It will now be apparent that Water entering the valve chamber from the'pipe D, will flow over the disk H, out through the valve or nozzle Gr, and-through the reciprocating tubular valve member'R'to a pipe S, con
nected with the valve member, and thereby into the "tank:the water for the usual after-fill passing out through the transverse ports F 'to the pipe K, and thence to the overflow pipe C.
Upon the Water in thetank reaching suflicient altitudeto raise the float N to the position indicated in fulllines in Fig. 1 the reciprocating valve member'will assume the position indicated in Fig. 2 -the valve or flaring nozzle being seated against the disk H, thereby cutting oil further flow o'f Water from the pipe D toth'e tank.
It will be noted that by adjusting the screw R the degree to which the reciprocating'tubular valve member F may be opened to admit Water to theta-11k can be regulated; Q
Having thus described my invention what I claim is: J

annular bell-shaped valve carried by said reciprocating sleeve; a disk valve-seat supported on an annular flange formed integral with .the valve body; a screw threaded plug screwed into the valve body to secure said disk valve-seat in position a cup washer supported between the bell-shaped valve and reciprocating sleeve; a float lever fulc'rumed upon trunnions'integral with the valve body,
and detachable means for connecting the float lever with the reciprocating sleeve adjacent to the fulcrum of the float lever.

In a device ofthe eharacterflescribed, a flushing tank; a valve chamber in said tank; a"-reciprocating V sleeve, having transverse ports; an annular valve having a flaring end, connected with said sleeve andadapted to be seated near the upper end of the valve chamber; a discharge pipe connected with the lower end of the reciprocating sleeve and opening into the tank; a
water inlet pipe connected with an inlet port opening into the valve chamber below the open flaring end of the valve; an after fill pipe leading from the valve chamber to deliver water passing through'the transverse ports of the re'criprocating sleeve to an overflowf pipe;and a float lever connected with the reciprocating sleeve and fulcrumed upon the valve chamber adjacent to its connection with the sleeve. q
