UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILLIAM? MANSON DOCKER AND EDWARD DOCKER, OF KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA.
DISPLAY-STAND.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented uly 26, 1921 Application filed December 29, 1920. Serial No. 433,903.
. DOCKER and EDWARD DooKER, both subjects of the King of Great Britain, and both residents of the town. of Kamloops, in the Province of British Columbia, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Stands, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention relates to improvements in display stands, and the object'of our invention is to devise a stand by means of which ties and collars may be displayed to the best advantage in windows or on counters or the like, andwhich is simple in construction and inexpensive.
We attain this object by the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings in Which Figure 1 is a front view of the device.
Fig. 2 is a View illustrating the use of the device to display the tie.
Fig. 3 is a View illustrating of a collar and tie on the device.
Similar figures of reference indicate similar parts throughout the several views.
The device consists of a card provided on its rear side with a supporting flap 9 and having its lower portion formed as a base 1 while its upper portion 2 is formed to represent a shirt front provided with three slots 3, 4:, and 5 in a shaped collar band extension 6, the slots being of different lengths for the purpose of tying a non-creasable knot in the tie to be displayed without putting the tie around the collar, the tie being indicated by the numeral 7 in Figs. 2 and 3. The collar 8 is attached to the card by passing the folds over the neck band the shape of which holds the display.
the collar in place without soiling or damaging the collar, it being understood, of course, that the ends of the collar are first of all held by a stud passed through the button holes. 7
To secure the tie in displayed position, knotted, it is doubled in the center and the doubled part passed through the top slot,
passed back through one of the side slots over the tie ends andthen through the other side slot, so that it then appears as it would when actually in use on the person.-
From the foregoing it will be seen that We have devised a simple, inexpensive, convenient and effective window and counter dis-' play stand for ties and collars.
What we claim as our invention is 1. A display stand comprlsing a card formed to represent a shirt front and provided with means whereby a tie may be sup ported thereon to present a knotted appearance without knotting, and means for sup porting a collar on said stand whereby the collar and tie are displayed as on the person.
2. A display stand comprising a card formed to represent a shirt front having a neck band and provided in said neck band with a transverse slot and a pair of diagonal slots below and adjacent the transverse one.
8.. A display stand comprising a card formed to represent a shirt front having a neck band and provided in said neck band with a transverse slot and a pair of diagonal slots below and adjacent the'transverse one, said slots being all of different lengths.
Dated at Kamloops B. (3., this 14th day of December, 1920.
