4 QSQQQWAQ PATENT OFFICE.
HANS J. NIELSEN, OF SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA.
KEY-GUARD.
Application filed January 21, 1920.
1 all 107mm it may concern.
Be it known that I, Hans J. NIELSEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Francisco, in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in I Ie Guards, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is a key guard to prevent one from carrying off and losing a key.
Referring to the annexed drawing which forms a part of this specification Figure l is afront view of one form of my invention.
Fig. 2 is a side view of the form of my invention shown in Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 is a front view of another form of my invention.
Fig. 4 is a side view of the form of my invention shown in F 3.
5 is a front View of another form of my invention.
F ig. 6 is a side view of the form of my 1nvention shown in Fig. 5.
Fig. 7 is a front view of another form of my invention.
F ig. 8 is a side View shown in F ig. 7.
In the drawing 1 indicates a plate pro vided with an aperture 2 in one end thereof through which a key ring 3 extends. Said plate preferably consists of fiber. fin outstanding strip 4 preferably of metal is secured at its ends to one side of the plate in the forms of my invention shown in Figs. 1 and 2, and d, and 7 and 8 and to each side of the plate in the form of my invention shown in F igs. 5 and 6.
The plate 1 may be of various shapes. In Fig. l the plate is diamond shaped with rounded corners. In Fig. 3 the plate is in the shape of a shield with an extension 5 at one end on which the aperture 2 is located.
of my invention Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 14, 1921. Serial No. 353,065.
In Fig. 5 the plate is rectangular with an extension 5 at one end in which the aperture 2 is located. In Fig. '7 the side edges of the plate diverge outwardly and its ends are rounded, the aperture 2 being located in the apex of the plate.
In the forms of myinvention shown in Figs. 1 and 9. the strip 4 extends longitudinally of the plate and curves outwardly therefrom between its ends.
In the form of my invention shown in Figs. 3 and d the strip extends outwardly at an angle from each of its ends to a point 6 inter-med rte its ends.
In the form of my invention shown in Figs. 5 and 6 the strips 4 curve outwardly diagonally from one corner of the plate to the other, the strip on the rear of the plate extending diagonally between the corners opposite the corners between which the strip on the front of the plate extends.
In the forms of my invention shown in Figs. 7 and S the strip 4 has a fork 7 formed at one end, the members of which fork are secured to the plate at the wide end thereof.
A key is hung on the ring My key guard is particularly applicable to hotel keys. If the key, and guard are placed in ones pocket, the strip 4 causes the pocket to bulge, thus reminding one of the key so that it will not be carried off and lost.
Having described my invention I claim:
1. A key guard including a plate, a key suspended from said plate, and means outstanding from both sides of said plate, whereby a bulky guard is formed.
2. in key guard including a plate, akey suspended from said plate, and two strips extending diagonally of the plate in opposite directions respectively on the opposite sides of said plate and secured to the plate.
In testimony whereof I aiiix my signature.
HANS J. NIELSEN.
