ANTICORROSIVE COMPOSITION.
No Drawing.
To all whomct may concem Be it known that I, TAICHIRO Mikado of Japan, have invented new and useful Improvements in Anticorrosive Compositions, of which the following is' a specification.
This invention is an improved anti-corrosive composition for use in protecting metal and especially tools, instruments, ma-
chinery, pens and the like from rust.
One object of the invention is to provide\ an improved composition of this character, which is adapted tobe used in an acid' solution such as is employed for disinfecting metallic tools, instruments and the like, to prevent such tools or instruments from becoming oxidized or rusted and to also protect them from rust whilein storage, transportation, or packed.
Another object of the invention is to provide an improved composition of this character which not only is an anti corrosive,
but which also prolongs'the disinfecting powerof a solution of mercuric chlorid, or the like.
Another object of the invention is to provide an improved composition of this character which is especially, ada ted to be mixed with an ink mainly ma e of tannic acid or sulfuric acid, to prevent the ink. from corroding pens.
Another object of the invention is to provide an improved composition of this character which isadapted to prevent a steam boiler or other like boiler from scaling.
Another object of the invention is to provide an improved composition of this character which can be readily mixed and solved as needed, which can be produced at small cost, and which can be readily packed, transported, and stored.
My improved compound consists of coniminuted ,borax and dextrin.
Dextrin, if dissolved in a moderate quantityof water, forms a solution of syrupy YosHiaAw of Tokyo, Japan, subject of His Majesty the Specification of Letters Patent. t t 18,1921 Application filed August 26, 1919. Serial N0. 320,012.
viscosity and when borax is mixed therewith forms a vehicle which carries the borax holds the same in suspension and causes the borax to adhere to the applied metal surface.
I make a powder of boraX and dextrin in the proportlons 0f.
Borax 5 to 15 parts Dextrln Qto 5parts To render ink such as is mainlymade of tannlc acid or sulfuric acid anti-corrosive, I
ngix with such ink about 1% of a powder 0 Borax; j 8 to 15 parts Dextrln 2 to 3 parts The powder does not afi'ect or change the color of the ink and is effective to render the 111k anti-corrosive, so that it does not-cause pens used therewith to become foul and rusted.
To render mercuric chlorid solution in which tools and the like are immersed for disinfection and for cleansing purposes anticorrosive, I mix therewith about 3% of a powder of-- v Borax 5 to 10 parts Dextrmv 2to 5 parts and dextrin.
2. "The herein described anti corrosive composition consisting of powdered borax 5 to 15 parts, and comminuted dextrin 2 to 5 parts.
