L. A. AMIS. SHAVING BRUSH HOLDER. APPLICATION FILED MAR. I. 1919.
Patented Nov. 23, 1920.

Grimm,
UNITED LEWIS A. AMIS, OF ."MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA.
. SHAVING-BRUSH HOLDER.
Application filed March '7, 1919.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, Lnwrs A, Anus, a citizen of the United States, residing at Muskogee, in the county of Muskogee and State of Oklahoma, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shaving-Brush Holders; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains'to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a )art of this specification.
T his invention relates to a shaving brush holder adapted to envelop the bristles of the brush in such manner that liability of moisture therefrom contactingwith adjacent articles will be prevented, the holder being so constructed that it may be readily suspended from a nail, hook or other support to permit the brush to be readily withdrawn.
The device is primarily intended for use by travelers and the object is to provide means to receive the wet brush in such manner that it may be deposited in a suitcase, satchel or the like without communicating its moisture to surrounding articles.
The invention primarily consists in providing a brush-receiving; tube having a bracket portion adapted to engage a suitable support and the tube is preferably perforated to permit circulation of air to assist in cr ing the bristles of the brush after use.
ln the drawings Figure l is a rragmentary perspective view of a holder constructed in accordance with my invention, showing the brush in place.
Fig. H is a similar view showing the brush removed, and
H1 is a cross sectional view through the holder.
Referring now to the drawings by nu- Inerals of reference:
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 23, 1920.
Serial No. 281,214.
1 designates a tube of rubber or other suit erably iiared and perforated as at 2 and the lower edge thickened to provide a bead 3 whereby the lower portion of the tube will be reinforced. The upper end 4 of the tube is cut away to form a bracket member integral with the tube 1 and provided with an opening 5 to ei'lgag'e a nail, hook or the like whereby the holder may be suspended from a suitable support.
The brush 6 may be introduced into the holder by inserting the handle portion 7 through the end adjacent to the head 3 into the position shown in Fig. 1 whereby the bristles will be engaged by the perforate portion of the tube. When it is desired to withdraw the brush, the handle 7 may be grasped and an upward pull in the direction of the arrow will release the brush, ready for use. After use, the brush may be reinserted through the open end adjacent to the bead 8 and assume its normal position as shown in Fig. I.
It will, therefore, be seen that the holder is simple in construction, that when not in,
use it will require an unappreciable amount of space, and that it is well adapted to serve the purpose for which it is intended.
Having thus described my invention, what 1 claim as new therein, and desire to secure by Letters-Patent is:
it shaving brush holder consisting of a single piece and comprising a flexible rubber tube of inherent expansibility havinga perforate lower portion adapted to surround the bristles of a shaving brush and an upper portion to extend beyond the handle thereof, and provided with an opening to engage a nail or projection whereby the holder may be held in a suspended position.
In testimony whereof I atlix my signature.
LEl/VIS A. AMIS.
