IMPROVEMENT IN CLAMPS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 135,882, dated February 18, 1873.
To all whom it may concern: f
Be it known that I, CHARLES S. BoNNEY, of
the city and county of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Clamps, of Which the following is a specification:
The object of my invention is to make a double or crotched prong-clamp for holding both level surfaces, miter, and other angles together, and at the same time be more quickly and be more easily adjusted than ordinary clamps.
Description of the accompanying drawing, which is a perspective View of the clamp, showing all its parts.
A is a straight notched bar, to which is attached the two prongs B B, on the ends of which are the hemispheres C C. E is a standard, which is intended to slide upon the bar A, being prevented from slipping when in use by catching in the notches in the bar A, the upper end of which is provided with a thumbscrew, E', the same as other clamps, but which may be quite short on account of the standard `bein g allowed to slide upon the bar A.
Claim.
I claim- The combination of the notchedbar A having the curved forked ends B B pointed with the Vhemispherical knobs G G 'with the sliding standard E and screw E', substantially as and for the purpose described.
