Be it known that I, HARRY WAYwnLL, a subject of Great Britain, residing at Cleveland, in'the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and use-' ful Improvements in lVindow-Cleaning Devices, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a window cleanin device for removing rain, snow or moisture from the vestibule windows of electric cars but may with slight changes be used on wind shields of automobiles or in any similar place where it is essential that the view be unobstructed especially in wet or stormy weather.

The object of the device is in the provision means which will enable the wipers to be easily moved upon the suiyfaceof the glass, the construction of said means being such as to form a perfect contact between us wipers --and the glass at all times. 7,

With the foregoing objects in view the invention consists in certain elements particularly pointed out in the accompanying drawings in which like reference numerals designate similar parts of reference throughout the various views, and in which Figure 1 is a front elevation of the device secured in its proper relation to the window of an electric car; 2 is a central vertical section through the device; Figs. 3, l and 6 are sectional details on corresponding lines of Fig. a, and Fig; is a rear elevatilin of the upper end of one of the wipers.

"The aforementioned arms are provided at their free ends with rubber rollers 15 in the form of rings which are so constructed as to permit of easy replacement, these rings being mounted between an annular flange 16 formed about a cup shaped washer 17 and a second washer 18 which assembly is pivotally mounted upon a stud 19 secured to the free end of the wiper arm. These may be secured in any suitable manner, here shown as provided with flattened portions 20 which after being assemblcdfare retained in place by having the metal of the wiper arms pressed inwardly as shown at 22, this provides a cheap and efiicient way of securing the rollers to the wiper arms, while the rollers hold the arms in pro or relation to the glass.
