To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HYMA-N ABRAMowrrz, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, (borough of Manhattan,) in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Toy Machine-Gun, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
This invention relates to toys and deals particularly with machine guns.
The invention has for its general objects to improve and simplify the construction and operation of toys of this character so as to be reliable and efficient in'use, comparatively simple and inexpensive to manufacture, and so designed as notftoread'ily get out-of order.
A more specific object of the invention is the provision of a machine gun which, by the operation of a single crank, causes the projecting of a bullet and the explosion of a cap.
With such and other objects in view, the invention comprises various novel features of construction and arrangement of parts which will be set forth with particularity in the following description and claims appended hereto.
In the accompanying drawings, which illustrate one embodiment of the invention and wherein similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views Figure 1 is a perspective view of the toy;

Referring to the drawing, A designates the supporting tripod, B the casing of the machine gun, C the barrel, D the magazine for the bullets or'proj ectiles, and E the operating crank.
The casing B comprises a bottom plate 1 having apertures 2 for receiving the fastening lugs 3 on the shell or body section 4L of the casing. The front wall 5 of the body section has an opening 6 through which the rear end of the barrel extends, and the top of the section 4 has an opening 7 into which the lower end of the vertically disposed tubular magazine D extends. The operating crank E is carried by a crank shaft 8 journaled in bearing lugs 9 struck up from a base plate, and on this shaft is a bevel gear 10 which meshes with a bevel gear 11 on a transverse shaft 12 journaled in bearing lugs 13. Disposed under the shaft 12 are parallel projecting and firing pins 14: and 15 slidable in upstanding bearing lugs 16' and 17 struck up from the base plate. The pin 14 is in alinement with the barrel C and is adapted to move into the lower end-of the magazine tube so as to project therefrom through the barrel the lowermost bullet or projectile 18 in the magazine D. The firing pin 15 has a head 19 which cooperates with an abutment or anvil 20 toform means for firing the detonators 21 of a detonating strip 22 which is in the form of roll 23 carriedby a bracket 24, thestrip being fed by coacting feed rolls 25 and 26, the former of which is connected by a sprocket and chain transmission 27 with the shaft 12.
The projecting and firing pins 14 and 15 are operated simultaneously, and for this purpose they are connected by a cross bar 28. against which acts a cooking device 29 in the form of arms extending from the shaft 12. Each arm moves the cross member 28 backwardly to cook the projecting and firing pins 14 and 15, and as thearm 29 wipes off the cross bar 28 the latter moves forwardly under the pressure of the springs 30 and 31 on the pins 141 and 15,,whereby the latter is moved forwardly with considerable force and speed to fire a detonator21 and simultaneously project a bullet from the bottom of the magazine. By a continuous turning of thecrank E the detonators v and bullets will be ignited and projected respectively until the detonator tape and bullets are exhausted. 1
From the foregoing description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the advantages of the construction and methf 0d of operation will be readily understood by those skilled in the art to which the invention appertains, and while I have described the principle of operation, together with the device which I now consider to be the best embodiment thereof, I desire to have it understood that the device shown is merely illustrative and that such changes may be made when desired as fall within the scope 1 of the appended claims.

A toy of the class described comprising a magazine for projectiles, a feeder for a detonator tape, a projecting pin associated with the magazine, a hammer for firing the detonators of the tape successively, a cocking and releasing means for the pin and hammer, and an actuating element for the said means.
2. A toy of the class described comprising a magazine for projectiles, a feeder for a detonator tape, a projecting pin associated With the magazine, a firing pin for firing the detonators of the tape successively, a member connecting the pins rigidly together, a rotary element operating on the member for cooking and releasing the pins, and a device for actuating the rotary element.
8. A toy of the class described comprising a body, a magazine tube extending into the same, a barrel extending from the body, means for projecting bullets through the barrel from the magazine tube. a detonating device, and a common operating crank for the said means and d'etonating device.
4. A toy of the class described comprising a support, a body mounted on the support, a
barrel connected with the body, a magazine tube connected with the body, a detonater tape holder on the body, there being an opening in the body through which the tape enters the s: me, feeding means for the tape, a firing pin for igniting the detonators of the tape, a projecting pin cooperating with the magazine to discharge bullets through the barrel from the magazine, and a common actuating device for the said pins and for the tape feeding means.
A toy of the character described, comprising a frame including a forwardly projecting barrel, a spring-actuated rod adapted to eject a projectile fromthe barrel, a shaft mounted in the frame, means for turning the shaft, means on the shaft controlling movement of the spring-actuated rod, a firing block or anvil, a hammer adapted to cooperate With the anvil, a spring acting to move the hammer against the anvil, means on the shaft for moving the hammer from the anvil at each rotation thereof, and means for positioning an explosive cap between the hammer and anvil When they are separated by actuating the shaft.
