which the following is the specification.
This invention relates to that class of portable stereopticons in which the mam inclosing casing is of the suit-case form,
and in which the series of views or pictures are on a transparent band or strip, and the present improvement has for its object To provide va simple and eflicient structural formation and association -of parts,
whereby the heat from the incandescent lamp used as the source of illumination of the apparatus, is effectively intercepted and carried away before reaching the inflammable film upon which the series of views or pictures are printed, all as will hereinafter more fully appear. I

Referring to the drawings, 20 designates the main inclosing casingof a rectangular box. or suit case form, as usual in the present type of stereopticons.

35 designates a plurality of perforations in the side walls of the aforesaid shell or casing 34, adapted to permit of a very effective circulation of, air through the interior of said shell or casing to-intercept and carry off the heat rays in their passage between the pair of lenses 32, 33 aforesaid.
38 designates the frame or housing of the film carrying and actuating mechanism of the apparatus, arranged at the other end of the main casing 2 in line with thelamp house '21, and provided with the usual objective 39. I 40 and 41 designate the upper and lower film spools or reels journaled ontheframe I or housing 38 and having operative connectlonswlth the film actuating mechanism in manner hereinafter described.
43 designates the usual film guiding plate carriedby the frame or housing 38, and formed withthe usual light aperture 42, and with a shallow vertical recess 44 for the reception and guidance of the picture film in its movement past the light aperture 42 aforesaid.
51 designates a carrying head or block upon which the hereinafter described film feeding member 49 is mounted. Said carrying head or block is slidably mounted on vertical guiderods 52, fixedly arranged in bracket lugs 53 and 54 on the inner face of the film guiding plate 43 aforesaid, and the amount of movement of the carrying head 51 is regulated by an adjustment screw 55 mounted in the lower lug 53 aforesaid;
.The film feedin member 49 above referred to, is of a b ock form, pivoted by a pivot pin 50 on the carrying head 51 aforesaid, and having at one end teeth or detents.

Said plate or partition 67 is secured in spaced relation to the rear face of the film confining gate 66 by horizontal studs or pins as. shown in Fig. 3, to provide an open space' between the parts adapted to provide a ventilating passage for the air and aid in intercepting and carrying away the heat rays passing along the light path of the apparatus.

Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is I [1. In a stereopticon, the combination of a main casing, a lamp house arranged at one end of said casing, a film feeding mecha nism arranged at the other end of said casng, a rectangular shell arranged insaid casing intermediate the lamp house and film feeding mechanism aforesaid and provided. with a plurality of perforations in its vertical side walls, and condenser lenses mounted in the front and rear walls of said shell, substantially as set forth. v
2. In a stereopticon, the combination of a main casing, a lamp house arranged at one end of said casing,.a film feeding mechanism arranged at the other end of said casing,'a rectangular shell arranged in said cas-.
ing intermediate the lamp house and film feeding mechanism aforesaid and provided with a plurality of perforations in its vertical side walls, condenser lenses mounted in the front and rear walls of said shell, a film confining gate associated with the film feeding mechanism aforesaid, and a vertical partition secured in spaced relation to said gate, substantially as set forth.
3. In a stereopticon, the combination of a main casing, a lamp house arranged at one end of said casing, a film feeding mechanism arranged at the other end of said casing, a rectangular shell arranged in said casing intermediate the lamp house and film feeding mechanism aforesaid and provided with a plurality of perforations. in its vertical side wal1s,-condenser lenses mounted in the front and rear walls of saidshell, a film confining ate asmec anism aforesaid, and a vertical partltion secured in spaced relation to said gate and provided with a lightopening having a transparent closure, substantially as set forth.
