To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ALs'roN G. CAMPBELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Volga, in the county of Barbour, State of West Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Chicken-Coops; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in poultry culture and particularly to coops.

One object of the present invention is to provide a novel and improved device of this character which can be easily and quickly set up or taken down.

Another object is to provide a novel and improved structure of this character in which there is included a novel ventilating means for the coop.

A further object is to provide a novel and improved structure wherein the ventilator serves, when closed, to hold the parts of the coop in proper relation to each other.

Other objects and advantages will be apparent from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawing.

Figure 1 is a side elevation of a chicken coop made in accordance with my invention.

Fig. 4 is a vertical transverse sectional view taken on the line 44 of Fig. 3.

Fig. 5 is a vertical longitudinal sectional view taken on the line 55 of Fig. 3.

Referring particularly to the accompanying drawing, 10 and 11 represent a pair of side members each of which is rectangular in outline and formed on the vertical edges of each member are the tabs or tongues 12 which are rolled into tubular form, as shown. A pair of triangular end members 13 are disposed between the ends of the side members, and the side edges of these end members are formed with similar rolled tabs 14: for alinement with the rolled tabs 12. Long pins or bolts 15 are passed through the thus alined tabs whereby the sides and ends of the coop are firmly held together.

In one of the end walls of the coop there is formed an access opening 16 closed by a hinged door 17 In each of the side walls of the coop there is formed a window opening 18 and secured in and covering each of the openings is a screen 19, whereby light and air may freely pass to the interior of the coop. I

Hinged to the upper edge of the side wall 10 is an elongated inverted trough-shaped roof member 20, the other edge being arranged to rest on the u per edge of the wall 11, as clearly shown. ecured to the ends of the roof member, within the arch thereof,

are the end walls 21 of said roof, it being f noticed that the arched roof member extends a short distance beyond each of the end walls of the coop, whereby the said end members 21 of the roof are disposed outwardly of the ends of the coop. This serves to assist in retaining the sides and ends of the coop in proper relation. If, however, it is desired to provide more ventilation with in the coop, the roof member may be swung away from the upper end of the side 11, whereby the coop will be provided with an elongated opening extending the entire length of the coop.

It will thus be seen that by removing the pivot pins 15, the sides and ends of the coop may be readily separated for the purpose of packing and storing the coop, when not in use, or when shipping the same.

There is thus provided a novel and sim-' ple structure which is cheap, durable, and

which is readily capable of being taken apart or set up in a short time.

What is claimed is: l

A chicken coop including a pair of inclined and rectangular side walls each having an opening therein, a pair of end walls of triangular outline with the apex of each rounded, hinge connections between the side and end walls, said ends having openings therein, and a roof consisting of an inverted trough overlapping the upper edges of the side walls and having semi-diskalends overlapping the rounded apexes of the end walls, and hinge connections between the roof and one of the side walls.
