The nature of my invention consists in a novel mode of constructing barrels, boxes, orany packages for containing fruit, or any other articles not requiring a close package. This package may be made from refuse material of factories for making bent articles, as Will be hereinafter set forth.
Figure 1. is a vertical section of my barrel. Fig. 2 is a plan View of the same.
A A, 85e., represent two or more hoops, according to the length of package desired, which may be of the same or of diiferent Widths, according as the refuse material will Work up. D D are the ribs running the full length of the" barrel or package, on the inside or outside, and fastened to the hoops A A, Svc. F F F F are strips running around the inside of the ends of the barrel, between the ribs D D, when said ribs are used inside of the barrel. These strips F F F F are of the same thickness as the ribs D D, and are of sufficient Width so that the inside lining hoop for the head to rest upon maybe fastened to them. H is a hoop fastened around the middle of the barrel on the' outside, to forni a bilge, to facilitate the handling of the barrel. Two hoops, a few inches apart, may be used if preferred.
I claim as my invention- The combination of two or more ribs, D, extending throughout `the entire length of a sectional bent barrel, vand the strips F extending between the ribs D at the ends of the barrel, sub-V stantially as and for the purpose set forth.
