Description

AUGUST BUNGER, OF HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY.
BRONZING- LIQUID.
1 22mph Specification of Letters Patent.
No Drawing.
Patented Mar. 27, 1917.
Application filed May 18, 1916. Serial No. 98,418.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AUeUsT BUNGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Hoboken, in the county of Hudson and State of New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bronzing Liquids; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The invention relates to a bronzing liquid for printers ink.
The object of the present invention is the production of a bronzing liquid for use in connection with printing bronze powders and designed to be mixed with the bronze powders by pressmenwhen ready to put the mixture on a printing press.
The bronzing liquid consists of a mixture of rosin, a compound of lead, preferably lead oxid, maganese borate, olive or cotton seed oil, boiled linseed oil, printers varnish and coloring matter consisting of printers ink. The printers ink is employed for imparting the desired tint or shade to the bronzing liquid for adapting the same for use in connection with the bronze powder with which it is to be mixed.
In preparing the composition I prefer the ingredients in about the following proportions; one part rosin, one part lead oxid, one part manganese borate, two parts olive or cotton seed oil, five parts boiled linseed oil, five parts printers varnish and five parts printers ink.
The ingredients of the composition are thoroughly mixed and in the use of the bronzing liquid the latter is mixed with bronze powder to form a printing ink of the desired consistency for use on a printing press or analogous purpose;
What is claimed is 1. A bronzing liquid for admixture with bronze powder, said bronzing liquid in- 46' eluding rosin, a compound of lead, a compound of manganese, a vegetable oil, printers varnish and coloring matter.
2. A bronzing liquid for admixture with bronze powder, said bronzing liquid includ- 50 ing rosin, a compound of lead, manganese,
a vegetable oil, printers varnish and printers ink for producing the proper tint or shade.
3. A bronzing liquid for admixture with bronze powder, said bronzing liquid consisting of one part rosin, one part lead oxid, one part manganese borate, two parts cotton seed oil, five parts boiled linseed oil, five parts printers varnish, and five parts printers ink.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
AUGUST BUNGER.
