This invention relates to neckties of the kind adapted to be tied by the wearer, and has for its object improvements whereby the said tie may be worn in a manner to expose any one of four different patterns, colors or materials of which it is composed so as to produce the same effect as could be obtained by the employment of as many different ties, thereby efi'ecting great economy.

According to a preferred construction the tie is composed of four pieces of material of difierent color, pattern or texture, two of which constitute the back and front of one end and the other two the corresponding parts of theother end, the same pieces being oined by sewing or any other suitable wellknown means.

be varied, so that a large range of choice may be presented to users. Furthermore, the shape to which the material is cut, as Well as its size, may be varied according to the manner in which the article is to be tied, without departing from the spirit of this invention.
One mode of carrying the invention into practice is illustrated by the accompanying drawing, in which four different pieces of material a, I), a, (Z are sewn together at e and along their respective edges. The pieces a, b, c, and a? may be of different colors,
patterns or composed of material of difi'erent texture.
I claim:
A necktie consisting of a band for tying comprising four pieces of material each of a different color, pattern, texture or the like, said pieces being disposed at the opposite ends of the two sides of the tie and there connected together at their adjacent end and along their respective edges so that the junction of the said pieces is so located as to cause the adjacent parts of the different pieces to be hidden by the wearers collar In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
