Another object of the .'nvention is to prowhich can be connected to any form of typewriter and which will hold the copy firmly trated in the in position and permit the sheet to be withdrawn without interfering with the remaining sheets of the copy, and which can be v quickly attached to and detached from a typewriter machine.
The foregoing and'other ob ects may be attained by means of the construction illusj Figure l is a front elevation of a copy holder made in accordance with this inven- -tion and connected to the side rail of a keyboard of typewriter, the latter being shown in section. Fig. 2 is a similar view of the frame, showing the supporting plate for the copy removed therefrom. Fig. 3 is KAUFMAN,
accompanying "drawing,- in I.
of the copyholder. Extending at right angles to themember 4. of the clamp is an arm 7, and bent vertically from the arm 7 1s a supporting bar 8 having a horizontal -top support QeXtendin'g therefrom, diag-' onal braces 10 and 11 assist in rendering the frame rigid. Depending from the bar 9 are hanger members 12,'said members being connected to the bar 9 by bolts 13 provided with nuts 14. The lower ends of the hangers 12 are provided with outwardly curved hooks 15. The copy holding plate or board 16 is supported upon the hooks l5, and is provided with an upturnedflange 17 at its lower edge. At the upper edge of the plate or board 16 is a spring clip 18 for holding the copy firmly in connection with the board while the lower edge of the copy is sup ported by the flange 17 The plate or board 16 may be ofsufficient height to hold the paper connected thereto by the clip 18 without the bottom edge reaching to the flange 17 if desired.
Various changes may be made in the details of construction without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claim.
