the sucker to draw the sheet adjacent'the corner into the concave mouth of the sucker and cause the tail corner of the sheet to tend downwardly against the underlying yruilied sheet, means to withdraw the presser :foot afterthe engagement of the sheet by the sucker, means to move the sucker laterally toward the medial portion of the sheet to buckle the sheet downwardly to effectually separate from the lifted sheet any underlyingfsheet clinging thereto, means to move the sucker upwardly to lift the sheet corner farther in order to 'afford space thcreunder,'means to move the presser foot inwardly beneath the' uplifted sheet and upon the top of the underlying pile, and means to direct a blast of air beneath the liited sheet and above the pile whereby to separate the sheet from the-pile throughout its length yand breadth, the suction being arranged thereafter to be cut oi to release the sheet as it is fed from the pile to the In t sheet buckler, a sucker, means to apply suction thereto to rst lift a portion et the sheet clear of the pile` and ymeans to next move the-sucker laterally in one direction whereby to buckle the lifted sheet portion and ellectually separate :from the lifted sheet portion any underlying sheet clinging thereto and then to move the sucker laterally in the other direction whereby to straightentlie sheet.
8. In a sheet buckler, a. pair of suckers for engaging `the sheet means to apply sud tion intermittently thereto to lift the sheet from the pile and thereafter to release the same, the said suckers arranged at unequal distances from the corner of the sheet, the outer sucker having a mouth concave in cross-section on a line extending between the two suckers, and means to move the suckers toward each other to buckle the sheets downwardly therel'ietween wherebj-,f' to eifectually free the lifted sheet and underlying sheet clinging thereto and thereafter to move the suckers away from each other whereby to straighten the sheet.
In witness whereof we have hereunto signed our names in the presence of two su b.- scribing witnesses.
