To all whom it may concern."
Be it known that l, l nnn J. Moses. citizen ot the United States, residing at lllIane, in the county oi Mcltean and State of Penn sylvania, have invented new and useful improvements in Anchors for 'llubings for Gas- Wells, of which the following is a specification.
sists in certain improvements in the con struction thereof as will he hereinafter fully described and ointed out in the claim With gas we is of very high pressure it is necessary to anchor the tubing and also desirable to have the fitting capable of draw ing off the salt water or other material from the well, as well as for conveniently connect in the well tor use.
n my Patent :ltl l50,8i5 dated August 24, 1915, l have shown a device oil this character and the present invention is in the nature at an improvement ot that device.
The invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings as follows:-
Figure 1 shows a' plan'view oi the device.
Fig. 2 a side elevation oi the device Fig. 3 a section on the line 3-3 iii-Figs. l and 2.
Fig. at a view similar to Fig. 92 with an alternative form of anchor bolts.
1 marks a casing, 2 a tubing, 3 a casing head, a a gland in the casing head through which the tubing extends and 5 the anchor fitting. 'lhe anchor fitting has the laterally extending wings 6 through which the bolts 7 extend, the bolts being secured as shown in Fig. 2 to the casing head. As shown in Fig. l the bolts 7 are provided with the turn buckles 7 andare secured to timbers as 18, the timbers ground or otherwise.
fllhe anchor fitting has a connection 2 into which the tubing 2 extends anda discharge This invention relates to improvements in i an anchor for tubings for gas wells and con being properly anchored in the connection a above the connection it. ill nipple 9 is screwed into the connection it and a valve i0 is arranged on the nipple. ll lat eral connection it is formed on the fitting At nipple id is screwed into this connection and a valve l3 provided which valve isordi" harily connected with the line 13. it connection it is provided. opposite the connec tion 13. This may be of small size, or large site provided with a plug iii" A pipe ll)? leads to an indicator or gage it which may be used it desired. I
lln my former construction there was no water discharge connection directly opposite the tubing connection. These anchor fittings are particularly useful in high-pres sure wells. li a lateral discharge is used the lateral thrust when the or water is dis charged to the atmosphere may be suthcient to bend the pipe and injure the connection. By making the water discharge opening directly opposite the tubing connection this ditlioulty is obviated and at the same time a convenient connection is made laterally to the line. ln'operation, when it is desired to blow out the well, the valve l3is closed and the valve 10 opened and when it is desired to close the discharge and openthe line the valve 10 is closed and the valveld opened.
Whatll claim as new is lln combinationwith well tubing extending through the casing head of an anchor fitting provided with integral anchor wings and with oppositely disposed openings, one of which is secured. to and in alineinent with the tubing and the opposite of which forms. and with. side openings for a gas discharge and pressure gage attachment, and anchor bolts operating curing the tubing in the casing head.
lln testimony whereof l have hereunto set my hand. a
/ FRED JOhEPH 'MUSER.
