In combination with a vertically adjustable platform, a block mounted thereon, a throwing arm hinged to the top of the Copies of this patent may be obtained for limiting the five cents each, by addressing the block having a hand portion adjacent its free end with a missile receiving recess in its upper face, an elongated operating spring connected between the platform and arm, a hook upon the bottom of said hand portion of the arm, a trigger rod vertically journaled through the platform having a hook at its upoer end adapted for detachable engagement with the hook of the arm when the arm is in its substantially horizontal operative position, an operating handle for said rod operable adjacent the rear end of the device, and a substantially 'V-shaped leaf spring carried by the platform within the path of movement of the arm during the throwing operation adapted for resiliently stopping the arm, the free for-ward end of the said leaf spring being normally spaced from the platform adapted for engaging the same for limiting the movement of the leaf spring when cont-acted by the arm.
