To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM Pnns'ron 1 GRACE, a citizenof the United States, and
' improvements in devices for residing at St. Michals, in the county of Talbot and State of Maryland, have in-' rious. details of construction and combinations of parts as will be hereinafter fully described and then specifically defined in the appended claim.
My invention is illustrated in the accompanyin'g drawings, which with the letters of reference marked thereon, form a part of this application, and in which,

Reference now being had 'to the details of i the drawings byletter A designates a funnel shaped part of the device, which is made of any suitable' material as of tin, and which may be ofany suitable size. Legs B support the drying device, and are designed to hold the funnel part over a lamp, stove or other heater. The upper part of the funnel shaped part opens into the upright tubular extensions D, D, and the upper end of said tubular extensions are provided with a screening E, and about .the marginal edge of the top are nnvicn non. Inusing the device, the boot is placed upside down over the tubular extensions, 'with the inner face of the sole resting upon the bowed Wires and which tend. to hold the sole of the foot a slight distance above the screen at the end of the tubular portions D, and
which will permitthe hot air to pass freely into the foot of the boot to dry the same.
While especially design my invention for drying gum boots with linings, it will be apparent that it may be used for various purposes.
What I claim to be new is:
A device for drying gum boots, etc., comprismg a funnel-shaped body portion adapted to be placed over a heater, and having upright tubular; extensions communicating therewith, a screen mounted .in the upper end of each extension, and a crown made up of curvedwires intersecting one another and fastened at their lower ends to the marginal edge of said screen, said intersecting portions of the wires adapted to form a support for the boot placed over the tubular extentllli sion, and permitting heated air to pass freely into the foot of the boot. 1
