ADVERTISING nnvionj Original application filed December Z Z,
To all'whomitmay concern: j a,
Be it known that I, Gnonon H. CONRAD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Johnson City, in the county of Brooms and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Advertising Devices; and 1 do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact de+ scription of the invention, such as will en able others skilled in the art to'which it appertainsto make anduse the same. v a
This invention relates to improvements in an advertising device, being. a division of my application filed December22, 1916, se rially numbered 138,444, and its primary object'is the provision of a device of this character, whereby apparel and the like may be readily and conveniently displayed.
Another object of this invention .is the provision of a movable figure on which may be placed, the apparel and the like for the purpose of advertising the'same.
A further object of this invention is the provision of means for supporting the figure in such a manner that this figure will be capable of moving upwardly and downwardly to attract attention thereto.-
A still further object of this invention .is the provision of an advertising device of the above stated character, which will be simple,
durable and efficient, and which may be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost.
will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the invention consists in certain novel features of construction, comb1- nation and arrangement of. parts as will Figure 1 is a front elevation of ani advertising device constructed in accordance with my invention,
Fig. 2 is a longitudinal sectional view of the same,
Fig. 3 is a detail View partly; in section of a cam.-
Referring in detail to the drawing,= the numeral 1 indicates a base having rotatably mounted thereon, a housing 2 as described I claim is:
-- Specification of LettersPatent- Pgafggnfteql App; 1918 '19s, eel-mind. ices ii;- Divided 191 7. Seria11 To.1 83,71'1.
and claimed in my e e-pending I application, and which is rotated by a motor as described and-- claimedin my co-pending application. A circular housing 3 is secured to the top of the casing 2' for incl'osing a block l. having a cam face 5. j A'substantially U-shape. support 6 is secured to'the base 1 and overlies thehousing 3 as shown in Fig. 2; An
operating rod 7 is pivotedto the substani tially Lit-shape support 6 as shown at 8 and has ,pivotallysecured to itsfree end, a vertically extending rod 9, which extends through an aperture in the support 6 and isfconnected to afigure 10, adapted to support a'pparel-or'the like. A friction roller 11 is 'rotatably secured on the operating rod i 7 and is adapted to engage the cam face 5 of the block 4 as the same travels in the path of'a circle with theeasing 2, causing the carrying the figure therewith, thus attracting attention, to the apparel orthe like carlike may be readily advertised by being placed upon the figure and have attention attracted thereto by'the movement of the and application filed duty 31,
" WWW T TeeT wees I to f .rod 9-to moveupwardlyand downw r lVhile I have shown and described the v a preferred embodiment of my invention,1it WVith these and other objects in view, as y will be understood that minor changes in construction, combination and arrangement of 1 parts may be made without departing from the'spirit and scope of the invention as claimed;
Having'thus described my invention, what '1. "An advertising base, a support securedto the base and overing rod and extending vertically through the device comprising a" base,- a casing rotatably mounted on said inoount edon the casingforraising the figure" upwardly and downwardlyupon rotation' thereof; i a 1 2."An advertising device base, a housing secured to the casing, a supi a a v "comprising a I base, a casing rotatably mounted on sald v the figure in a corresponding direction upon rotationpf the "casing.
In testimony whereof I affixmy signature 'in presence of tvvo Witnesses.
