To all whom z' may concern:

Be it known that I, Josrrr CHRAPLA, a subject of the Emperor of Austria, resident of Martin, county of Fayette, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Figure Toys, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements 1n toys, and particularly to types in which movable figures are employed, thereby per mitting the same to be placed in any desired formation.

The principal object of the invention is to provide a plurality of figures, representative of different nationalities as engaged in warfare, the same being distinguished by figural modifications and also by colors in any desired manner.

Another object is to provide toys representative of soldiers with movable bases, the same being so arranged as to hold the figure in an upright position, but allowing of any desired interchange of the gures.

These and other like objects are attained by the novel design, construction and combination of parts hereafter described and shown in the accompanying drawings, forming a material part of this disclosure, and in which Figure 1 is a view illustrative of a group of figures and the manner in which a game may be played with the same.

Fig. 2 is a perspective view showin a single figure arranged upon an indivi ual support.

Fig. l is a perspective view of the lower or base sustaining elements, one of which has been removed.

Referring now more particularly to the drawings, Fig. 1 represents a certain formation of the toy figures 10, mounted uponl their pedestals 11, and in such position that as the projectiles 12 are thrown forward, the projectile will make contact with certain of the figures, the game being to knock down as many as possible.

The vfigures 10 are simulative of soldiers, being garbed so as to represent the same, and provided with guns 13, each of the figures being firmly attached to pedestals 11, on the lower side of which are engaged cross bars 16, the same extending from the lower surface and provided with projecting pins 17, the projections formed by the cross-bars acting as tenons adapted to be received in the openings 2O formed between adjacent blocks 21, each of which is independent and has. upon two adjacent sides extensions 22, while the main portion of the blocks is provided with openings 23, receptive of the pins 17.

Four of the blocks 21 are used with each of the platforms, each being formed in parallelograms so as to rest upon the lower surface of the platform 11 when in an upright position, the tenons 16 entering the openings 20 between the blocks so that the pins 17 will engage in the holes 23, thereby sustaining the figures on the platform in an upright position, the blocks being assembled by the user as desired.

While the figures 10 may be made of any preferred material, as wood or the like, as may also the platform 11, the blocks 21 are preferably made of lead or some heavy material, so as to hold the figure relatively firmly in an upright position, and yet permit the grouping of the figures in any desired manner.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a game played with toys, the combination with a plurality of figures representative of soldiers and platforms upon which said figures are secured, of raised bars crossing each other centrally on the lower sides of said platforms, and a plurality of relatively heavy plates engageable with said raised bars.

2. In a game played with toys, the combination with a. plurality of figures simulative of soldiers and rectangular platforms upon which said gures are rigidly engaged, of cruciform extensions formed on the lower sides of said platforms, heavy rectangular blocks fitted to the square edges of said platform and said cruciform extensions, and means whereby said blocks are secured to said platform,
