. SOAP-DISPENSING DEVICE.
I Taall whom it mayl concern:
Be it known that' I, FREDERICK Heee, e
citizen of the UnitedStates, residing at a speclfi'cation.
' the dispensing device.
fshaving brush constructed i designates e hollow A furthennbject of the present invention is provide a dispensing device of durable nature which may beoperated conveniently and with arminimum amount of exertion.
f ith the above and other objects in view,
`the inventionV consists in the construction,
\combina`tion and arrangement of parts here luefter set forth in and falling within the scope of the claims.
In the accompanying drawing;
Figure 1- is a View in side elevation of a, in accordance withA the present invention,
Fig. v2 is a. longitudinal sectional View therethrough.
Fig. 3 is across sectional view thuough the same. i
Fig. 4 is a longitudinal sectional view showing the' brush head removed from the handle andthe handle employed as a paste dispensing tube.
ig. 5 is a view inside elevation showing thestick of shaving soap.
Referring now to the drawing in detail, l handle preferably of v,tubular form and has one end interiorly screwthreaded and the other end closed by acap orend plate 2. 3 designates a brush havingithe head 4 exteriorly, screwthreaded to engage in the threaded endof the tube 1 so Vtiret the brush may be connected to the tube and detached' therefrom. Formed in the'end of the head 4 of the brush Within i the tube 1 is a eoncavity and seated in such concavity is a plate 5 similar in shape to Vthe concave@ end .of the head and connected Spccieation of Letters Patent.

to the late 5 centrally thereof s-one Yend of a tu )e 6" extending through the'head 4 and having the other end projecting into he bristles of the brush, 'Within the handle 1 and disposed adjacent-to the other` end thereof .is a plunger composed of telescopicscctions 6, 7, 8 and 9, arranged one Within the other and each havingthe outer end thereof formed with an 4il'lvvardly projecting flange 9 threaded onto the adjacent section. The innermost section 9 of the plunger has the outer end thereof connected to a thumb piece 10 projecting through nu opening in the end of the tube and capable of rotary movement to impart a similar motion to the inner section 9. The inner end of each section 7, 8 and 9 is formed with a. stop flange l1 adapted to enge-ge the flange 9' when the 'sections are'moved 'outwardlypf one another end these stop flanges act to limit the turning'of one section relatively to another in the operation of the plunger.
The sections of the telescopic plunger are arranged one within the other at the end' aoV other sections, as a. unit, toward the other end of the handle, thereby forcing the shaving soap through the tube 6 into the brisin the continued use of the brush, the stop flange 11 on the inner end of the sectiont9 engages the fiange ,9 ,on the outer end of the fiange 8, thereby lock-- ing the sections 9 and 8 togetherfor simultaneous movement so that the Sections 7 and. 6 may be moved as a unit along the section 8 and when'the liange 9 on the outer end of the section 7 engages the stop flange 11 on the inher end of the section 8, 'the section 7 is locked to the section 8 so that the y section 6 Will move along the section 7 1n the action of the thumb piece 1,
and Z under" i If desired7 the brush head 4 muv be detached .from the tube and a. valved head 13 threaded onto the tube. When the ,valve in the head 13 is opened and the plun er operated "any paste or powder inthe han le will be forced outwardly through the head 13 past the valve. When the brush head 1s detached from the handle and the valvedl. head 13 applied thereto, the handle may beiY employed to dispense tooth powder, paste'l or any other desired material.
While I have herein shown anddescrbed the referred form of my invention by way of ilustration I Wish it to be understood that I do not limit or confine myself to the precise details of construction herein de variation may be made wi in the scope of the claims and without departing from the spirit o'f the invention.
I claim:
1. A device of the character described comprising a hollow cylindrical casing havi ing a closed end and a removable outlet end, a plunger adapted to slide in said cylinder, a, recess formed in said plunger and having screw threads formed therein, a 'series of steppedbushings having internal `eir-v4 ternal Vscrew threads formed. tliergqij,L 'the internal screwV threads of one bushing bein engageable with the corresponding outer screw threads of the next bushing, and the external screw threads of the largest bushscribed and delineated, aslodification and ing being engageable with said internal screw threads on said plunger, a screw threaded stem mounted for-rotation on said casing .and engagingthe internal screw threads of the Vsmallest bushing, flanges. formed upon the screw-threaded parts engageable with the flanges of the adjacent parts for preventing disengagement thereof when the parts are in extended position relative to each other, and means without thel casing for rotating said stem.
2v A device of the character described comprising a hollow cylindrical casing having an outer open end and an 'inner closed end, aplunger within said casing comprising a series of stepped telescopic sections, the outer section thereof having its outer end closed and having an internally projecting flange formed at its inner end, the internal periphery of said flange having internal screw threads formed thereon, the inner section of said series having its inner end mounted for rotation on the closed end of sa; l'` casing and having external screw threads formed thereonand having an externally projecting flange formed at its outer end, the intt-:rmediate sections of said series having external screw threads ,formed thereon and having externally projecting flanges formed at ti-"ir outer ends and havH ing internaliy pro' ing flanges ,formed their inner ends, the internal peripher' of said internal projecting flanges of the intermediate sections being formed with inf te'rnal screw threads adapted to be engaged by the external screw threadsy of the next section, and means Without thecasing for rotating said inner section. c
In testimony whereof I affix, my signature.
