date the accumulation of adipose tissue lifted when the corset is placed on the form. The accumulated flesh is thereby pocketed and the corset at this point has a disagreeable bulge which slightly distorts the figure of the wearer. Across this region the section 8 extends. Then by exerting a gentle restraining pressure, the section 8 operates to distribute the accumulation and to reduce the disagreeable protrusion at this portion of the body. This results in giving to the figure, a more shapely and pleasing appearance.
It will be understood that the sections ,8 having the strips 9 and 10, together with the fastening strip 12, are purveyed as. articles of wear. These belt sections and parts conin the upper portion thereof to acc0mmo-' nected therewith are secured independently a I to corsets which the purchaser may have or acquires. The strip 12 is usually positioned and secured to the corset after the section 8 has been secured thereto, so that each wearer may accommodate the strain exerted by the section 8to her individual taste.
While the member 8 has been shown in the drawings as constructed of elastic webhing and while the fastening members 13 and 14 are disposed as hooks and eyes, it
v will be understood that both may be varied by substitutin therefor other known forms" of yielding fa rics and other known forms a of fastening devices. These a'rticles are considered as the equivalents of those shown in the drawings and described ,in the specification..
