conveniently and teinptingly dispensed at pleasure places and elsewhere, whereby. the container may be eaten by a person together with the consumption of its contents.- The iurention consists essentially of a hollow cylindrical base which is supported on standards at a suitable elevation and the top of the base is provided with a stationary transverse plate having. one or a number of spaced tapered passages thercthrou-gh serving as the female members of a like number of molds for forming the containers.
Within thecylindrical base is a transverse freely movable support or plate adapted to;
be raised and lowered to'and from the lower open ends of the female members of the molds, and projecting upwardly at spaced intervals from the movable plate are a number of plungers adapted to force the containers when made outwardly of the female members. One of the plungers is recipro- 40 cably disposed in each of the female members of the molds, and each plunger has on.
its upper end a head of a size to adapt it to close the lower end of its respective female member of the mold when seated therein. Above the hollow base is a carrier, or bracket adapted to be adjustably moved to and from the stationary plate of the base, and projecting from the bracket are the male members of the molds for forming the containers. The male members correspond in shapes. but are somewhat smaller than the female members, and each male member is arranged so as to removably interfit the complemental female member when the bracket isladjusted accordingly with relation to the base. i
Other objects of the invention are to provide operative means in the hollow base whereby the plungers may be reciprocably directed.inwardly and outwardly of the female members of the molds, and which also serves for adjusting the, bracket relatively to the base so that the male members of the mold will be guided interiorly and outwardly of the 'emale members simultane' ously with the alternate movement ofthe plungers; to providea brake mechanism in conjunction with the operative means. to allow the male members to be held against movement whemforced home in the female members during the molding of the containers; to provide a hopper whereby a. suit-. able quantity of the material for making the containers maybe fed into the molds; toprovide an electric circuit; to provide in the circuit one or a number of resisting coils arranged in contact with the molds so as to be heated for baking the material of the containers; and to provide in the circuit a rheostat'for permitting the supplyof current to the resisting coils to be regulated.
7 With these and other objects in view, the invention will be hereinafter more particu larly described with reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the views. and will then be pointed out in the claims at the end of the description.

The machine for molding and baking containors for ice cream and the like has a hollow base 10 which is preferably cylindrical in shape, and this base is supported on a number of standards, as 11, at a suitable elevation. 'lransversely of the top of the base 10 is a stationary metal plate 12 having one or a plurality of spaced passages 13 vertically therethrough, and these passages taper toward the lower ends thereof. The passages 13 serve as the female members of molds, as ll Fig. 6, for forming the containers, as 15, which are preferably cupshaped with a flat bottom, as shown, whereby the container will rest without danger of falling over when placed on a flat sup port.
Interiorly of the hollow base 10 is a transverse freely movable support, or plate 1t adapted to be raised and lowered to and from the lower open ends of the female members, and projecting upwardly at spaced intervals from the movable plate are a number of plungers 17, all of which are similarly formed. The plungers l7 corre spond in numbers to the female members 13, and each plunger is disposed in one of the female members. Each of the plunger-s 17 has a post and ahead 19 on its upper end. The head 1!) of each of the plungers is in the form of a disk of a size adapted to close the lower end of the female member in which it is disposed when the plungers are moved accordingly, and the top surface of each head may be slightly concaved, as at 20. When the supporting plate 16 is moved upwardly it contacts with the underside of the station ary plate 12 of the base 10 so that the plungers will pass upwardly into the female members of the molds for forcing the containers when molded and baked outwardly of the top of the female members so as to be conveniently removed from the machine, as will be hereinafter more fully explained, and when the supporting plate is directed downwardly so that the heads 19 of the plungers are seated in the lower ends of the female members this movement of the sup porting plate is checked by contact with an annular flanged plate, or ring, as 21, which is rigidly held in the hollow base 10 in spaced relation to the stationary plate 12.
Above the base 10 and adjustably mov able to and from the stationary plate 12 is a cooperating carrier, or bracket The bracket 22 has a. longitudinally disposed plate 23 through which are a number of threaded openings in register with the female members 13 of the base 10. and in these openings are screwed the exteriorly threaded open end parts of the hollow metal male member 24 of the molds. The lower closed ends of the male members 2% extend down wardly from the underside of the plate so as to interfit the complemental female members when the bracket 2-2 is lowered on the base 10, and these lower ends of the members are tapered, as shown, to conform with the shapes of the female members. The tapered ends of the male members are smaller in sizes than the female members to provide a. slight space between the members of each mold for receiving the material of which the containers are made. In order that the plate 93 of the bracket 22 and the male members :24: may be accurately adjusted to and from the base as well as the female members 13, in openings through this plate of the bracket are held the upper ends of a number of tubular uprights or pipes, as 55. I prefer to employ three of the tubular uprights 25, and these uprights are triangularly arranged in spaced relation. The hiwer end portions of the tubular l1|)-- rights are movably disposed through openings in the stationary plate of the base 10, and the lower ends of the uprights are connected to the upper ends ofaspider, as 26, arranged within the base 10 so as to be moved upwardly and downwardly through the ring 21 for adjusting, the bracket 22 with respect to the base. The spider 26 is preferably formed with three triangular-1y disposed arms 27, 27 27* which converge, dmvnwardly in approximately a cone-shape, and extending downwardly from the apex of these arms is a short post lVhen the carrier, or brac Jet 22 and the male members iii are elevated above the base 10. as shown in Fig. 1. the movable plate of the plunpew 1T normally rests on the upper ends of the spider 26, and serving as means whereby the plnngers may be reeiprocably directed inwardly and outwardly of the female members of the mold as well as serving to adjust the bracket for guiding the male members 21 interiorly and outwardly of the female members 13 of the molds simultaneously with the alternate movement of the plungers, in the base 10 is provided a manuallv operative lever, as 29.
The lever 2 is preferably in the form of a bar having one of its ends slotted, at 30, and this slotted end of the lever is pivoted, at 31, to the lower end of the post of the spider 26. The lever 39 extends through a vertically disposed slot 82 in the wall of the hollow base, the lever being ,of a. length so as to project some distance outwardly of the base, and the outer end of this lever terminates with a handle 33 whereby the lever may be. conveniently raised. or lowered. The lever 2) is arranged so that its central part is adjacent to the slot 32 of the hollow base. and this part of the is r tatable on a shaft 34 held in the wa l of the has lt When the handle of the lever Ql is directed downwardly its slotted end 30 and the spider 26 will be swung upwardly in the base. The tubular uprights 25 of the carrier or bracket .22 together with the plate 722% and the male members of the molds will then be likewise guided upwardly, as shown in Fig. 1, and din-in; the upward movement of the spider it will contact with the underside of the movable supporting plate 16 which in turn will be directed upwardly for guiding the plungers also upwardly in the female members 13 of the molds, the stationary plate 1) of the base 10 being contacted with by the supporting plate 16 to limit its movement. By guiding the handle 33 of the lever in an upward direction, as indicated at Fig. 1, the slotted end of the lever 29, the spider 26, the uprights 25, the plate 213 and the male members 24 of the molds will be reversely moved for the male members to be guided into the female members oi the molds. As the movable supporting plate 11'' of the plungers 17 is made comparatively heavy in weight it will be automatically lowered with the descent of the spider '30, and the plunger-s will likewise descend in the female members oi the molds. The sup porting plate 16 will move upon the Hanged ring '21 of the base 10 when the heads ill at the plungers 17 have been seated in the lower ends of the female members of the molds. shown in Fig. (i, and the lowering of this plate together with the plung'crs will thereby be stopped by the flanged ring for the heads 19 of the plungers to serv as the bottoms of the female members of the molds. By swinging the handle of the lever 529 a sufficient distance upwardly the spider 2t) and the bracket 22 will be lowered suiticiently for the male members it to be seated in the female member 13, and serving to hold the male members against movementwhen forced home during the molding ot' the containers, on the lever 29 is provided a brake mechanism, as 36.
The brake mechanism 36 has a ratchet toothed wheel 37 held on the shaft ll of the lever 29, and pivoted to the lever is a pawl 38 adapted to be swung into and out of engagement with the ratchet wheel. To the pawl 38 is connected one end of a rod having its other end pivoted to a substantially L-shaped lever 40 having; the central part oi its upwardly projecting arm pivoted, at 41, to the lever 29 adjacent to its handle 33. The second arm of the lever 40 is disposed in spaced parallel relation to the handle 33, and by forcing this second arm of the lever it) toward the handle oi the lever 29 the pawl 38 will be caused to engage one of the teeth of the ratchet wheel 37. \Vhen the second arm of the lever 40 is moved away from the handle of the lever 29 the pawl 38 will be released from engagement with the ratchet wheel 37, and the lever 29 may then be swung either upwardly or downwardly on the shatt 34. After the handle part of the lever 29 is swung downwardly to its maximum distance for elevating" the bracket 3:! and the male members ll of the molds as well as raising the plate 16 and the pluugers lT these parts will be held against movement by applying the brake mechanism, as explained. After these parts are reversely adjusted with respect to the base 10 by first releasing the brake mcchanism and then swinging the lever 29 upwardly so that the male members 24 of the mold interlit in the female members the brake mechanism 36 of the lever is applied, and the parts will again be held against movement.
The containers 15 may be made of a batter oi rice flour, or other cereals, or any suitable ingredients of an edible character, and serving to permit the batter to be conveniently i'cd into a number or all of the female mem ers ot' the molds at th same time, I provide a hopper. as 42. The hopper l? is tot-meal ot' a receptacle 43 of an irregular curved shape, as indicated in Fig. 2, so as to be aiilapted to be passed between the uprights 2:) of the carrier, or bracket for being disposed over the t'cnial members 13 of the base 10. The top of the receptacle l ll is open. while through its bottom :t-l are a u b r of spaced openings in each of which a short tube. or outlet, as 45, and these tubes are arrangd so as to be registered with the female members l?) of the molds when the receptacle is accordingly guided over the top of the base i0. lntcriorly of the rcceptacle l3 is a plate lb which is freely movable upwardly and downwardly in the receptacle. and provided on the underside of this movable plate are a number oi spaced cireir lar disks, or stoppers r? the lower edges oi. the peripheries of which taper toward the centers thereof. The diameters ol these disks are somewhat larger than the openings in the bottom of the receptacle, while the tapered parts thercot' are smaller than the openings so as to be seated therein. The stoppers 1.7 a e arranged on the plate in so that each will close one of the openings in the bottom of the receptacle l3. and through this mo able plate may be one or a number of openings, or outlets 48. The plate 46 is of a weight so that it will be normally disposed at the bottom of the interior ol the re" ecptacle tor the disks l? to close the passages through the openings and through the tubes 45 of the bottom 4st. The receptacle 4% is hiug'cdly mounted to the machine y a bracket. as 49, projecting latterly from its wall, and on the free end of this bracket are two apcrtured lugs rotatably disposed on a post 50 extending upwardly from part of the stationary plate l) of the base 10 so that the hopper may be swung to and from a position over the base for registering the tubes of the receptacle 43 with the female members 13 of the molds. As shown at 51 in Fig. 2, when the hopper is disposed over the base 10 for registering the tubes l5 with the female members of the molds two of the female members. as l5 and 13*, will not be directly under the receptacle l3, and to allow the batter to be fed from the hopper into these members simultaneously with the delivery of the batter to the other members, in spaced passages through parts of the receptacle are two tubes l5 and 45". The ')assages of the feed tubes 45* and 4-5" are angularly dis-- posed through the bottom of the receptacle and through its wall so that these tubes will extend laterally from the rece tacle for be ing disposed over the female member 13 and 13 when the hopper is in position for pcrmitting the batter to be fed to the female members. and these pat-sages are adapted to he also closed by stoppers l7 provided on the underside of the moiablc plate to, the stoppers 47 being similarly formed to the stoppers 47. To supply at intervals the female members of the molds with suitable tguant it ics of the batter material for making the containers a quantity of the batter is deil\tlttl into the receptacle l? on top of the plate to, and the hopper swung over the ase 10 to register the outlet tubes of the receptacle with the female members of the molds following: the elevation of the bracket 2;. the male members Q-l. the plate 16 and the plnn e'ers IT, as above described. To permit the plate 46 and the stoppers l7, 4? to laraiscd in the receptacle for the batter to flow through the outlets 4-8 of the plate 46 and through the tubes of the bottom of the receptacle. to an eye extending upwardly from the center of the. plate -16 fastened one end of a line 53 disposed over a pulley at held on a bar 55 provided across the open top of the receptacle of th hopper, and this line is passed through a hole in the upper part of the wall of the receptacle. The oppositc end of the line is attached to the upper end of the vertical arm of a substantially L-shaped hand-lever 56 which is pivoted. at 51'. to the receptacle so that its longitudinal arm will extend laterally from the n all of the receptacle. By swinging this handdever downwardly its vertical arm will be directed from the receptacle, and the line fill will be guided over the pullev 5t to raise the plate 4t and the stoppers a distance in the receptacle for the batter of the containcrs to be fed through the outlet tubes of the receptacle into the female members of the molds. hen the required quantity of the ha tter has been delivered to the female members the handlever 56 is released, and the plate in will be lowered in the receptacle l3 by its own weight for its stoppers to close the outlets in the bottom of the receptacle. The delivery of the batter to the female members of the molds will thereby be shutoff, and the hopper is swung from its position over the base 10 in a lateral direction from the machine. The male members 2-l ot' the molds are then caused to be inserted in the female members by directing the lever 29 upwardly, as hereinbefore explained, and by exercising sutlicient leverage on this lever the male members may be driven home in the female members for properly forming the containers 15 into cup-shapes having flat bottoms, as shown in Fig. 6, to receive ice cream, Custards, and like condiments for being dispensed. imit the containers are being formed by the cooperation of the members of the molds in this manner, a quantity of the batter will likely be caused to flow over the upper edges of the female members, and to trim these surplus parts of the batter from the upper edges oi? the containers, projecting from the exterior of the wall of each of the male members 24 at the junc ture thereof with the plate 23 ol the bracket 22 is an annular cutter, as 58. The cutters 58 are arranged so that when the male members are forced home in the female members during the forming of the containers they will contact with and cut through the batter circumfcrentially for freeing the upper edges of the containers of all the surplus material.
In order to eifectually and quickly bake the batter of the containers when molded, l provide an electric circuit 59 leading from a suitable source of electricity supply, for instance a battery, as 60, and the circuit also leads to a plural series of connected resistin coils 61 and 62. The series of the resisting coils (31. are arranged so that each coil is wound spirally of the exterior of each of the female members 13 of the molds, and these coils are embedded in layers, as 63, ot fire clay or other electricity resisting, material one of which is applied on the wall of each of the female members. The series of the resisting coils 62 are arranged so that each coil is embedded in a core, as 64, also of fire clay, or other electricity resisting material, and one of these cores is provided in the hollow part of each of the male members of the molds. The current is transmitted to the connected series of resisting coils 1 in the male members 24 of the molds by a. wire 65 leading from one pole of the battery to the last coil of the series, this wire being disposed if desired through one of the tubular uprights 25 of the carrier, or bracket 22, and from the second pole of the battery is a wire 66 leading to the first coil in the series of the connected resisting mile 61. The current is also synchronously transmitted to the connected series of resisting coils 62 of the female members 13 of the molds by a wire 67 leading from the last coil of the series to the wire (35, and from the first coil of this connected series is a Wire 68 leading to the switch, 69, of a rheostat 70 which is interposed in the wire 66', part of this wire being connected to the contacts of the rheostat, while the other part of the wire is connected to the switch 69. The rheostat 70 may be of any suitable type adapted to permit the supply of current to the resisting coils to he regulated whereby the containers may be proi icrly baked by the heat generated by the coils and transmitted to the molds, and this rheostat also being of a form to permit the supply current to the coils to be cut-ott by throwing the switch 69 free of all engagement with the contacts of the rheostat, as indicated, at 71, Figs. 1 and 7. To turn-on the current for heating the molds the switch 69 is swung into engagement with one of the contacts of the rheostat. The circuit will then be transmitted from the battery over the wire 65, through the plural series of connected resisting coils 61, and from the battery over the first part of the wire 66, through the rhcostat 70 and its switch 69, thence over the second part of the wire 66 to the series of coils 61. .The male members of the mold will thereby be heated, and simultaneously therewith the current will be transmitted from the wire 65, over the wire 67, to and through the plural series: of connected resisting coils 62. The current will also be transmitted from the switch 69, over the wire 68 to the series of coils (32, and by adjusting the switch of the rhcostat accordingly into engagement with the various con tacts of the rheostat the supply of the cur rent from the battery may be effectually controlled for heating the molds to any desired degree. lVhen the containers, or cups are formed and baked in this manner, the lever 29 is swung downwzu'dly for elevating the bracket 22 and the male members of the molds above the base 10 as well as for guiding the plate 16 and the plungers 17 upwardly, as above explained, and the baked containers will then be forced outwardly of the female members for removal from the machine so as to be used for dispensing ice cream. frozen ices, custards, and other condiments of this class.
In the foregoing description. I have embodied the preferred form of my invention, but I do not wish to be understood as limiting myself thereto, as I am aware that modifications may be made therein without departing from the principle. or sacrificing any of the advantages of this invention; therefore I reserve to myself the right to make such changes fairly tall within the scope of the appended claims.
7 Having: thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent M l. 'ln a machinr of the character described, hollow husc hm iug a stationary transverse top plate provided with a crticall dis posed passage thereth-rough serving as the female n'wm her of a mold for making a container of edible material, a: movable support in the base, a plunger held on the support, and reciprocahly dis iesed through the lower end' of the female member, said plunger beiug formed to provide a movable bottom for the female member when lowered so that its free end rests in the lower open end of the female member, a carrier adapted to be raised and lowered to and from the top plateof the base, a male member on the carrier, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female member when the carrier is accordingly moved, and the male member being smaller in size than the interior of the female member for forming the interior of the container, and means in the base, connected to the carrier and adapted to contact with the support of the plunger, whereby the carrier and the male member will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and withdraw ing the male member in and out of the: female member as well as svnchronously reciprocatinn the tilunger in the female member when the said means is operated, substantially as set forth and for the purpose specified.
2. In a machine of the character described, a hollow base hating a. stationary transverse top plate provided with a plurality of vertieally disposed p'assagesdherethrough serving as the female members of molds for making containers of edible material, a movable support in the base. a plurality of plungcrs held on the support and one of the plung'ers beingreciprocahl disposed through the lower end of nch of the female members, the said plunger-n being formed to provide movable bottoms for the female nien'ihers' when lowered so that their free ends will rest in the lower open ends of the female members, a carrier adapted to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, male members on the carrier of an equal number to the female members, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female members when the carrier is accordingly moved, and the said male members being smaller in sizes than the interior of the female members for forming the interior of the containers; and means in the base, connected to the carrier and adapted to contact with the sup port of the plungers, whereby the carrier and the male members will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and withdrawing the male member; in and out of the female members as well as synchronously reciprocating the plunger-s in the female members when the said means is operated, substantially as set forth and for the purpose specified.
3. In a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a Stationary transverse top plate provided with a vertically disposed passage therethrough serving as the female member of a mold for making a container of edible material adapted to be baked, a movable support in the base, a plunger held on the support, and reciprocably disposed through the lower end of the female member, said plunger being formed to provide a movable bottom for the female member when lowered so that its free end rests in the lower open end of the female member, a carrier adapted to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, a male member on the carrier, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female member when the carrier is accordingly moved, and the said male member being smaller in size than. the interior of the female member for forming the interior of the container, means in the base, connected to the carrier and adapted to contact with the support of the plunger, whereby the carrier and the male mem ier will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and withdrawing the male member in an out of the female member as well as synchronously reciprocating the plunger in the female member when the said means is operated, and heating means associated with the molds for baking the material. of the container when molded, substantially as set forth.
i. In a machine 0 the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a plurality of vertically disposed passages therethrough serving as the female members of a mold for making containers of edible material adapted to be baked, a movable support in the base, a plurality of plungers held on the support, and one of the plungers being reciprocably disposed through the lower end of each of the female members, the said plunger-s being formed to provide a movable bottom for the female members when lowered so that their free ends will rest in the lower open ends of the female members, a. carrier adapted to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, male members on the carrier of an equal number to the female carriers, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female members when the carrier is accordingly moved, and the said male members being smaller in sizes than the interior of the female members for forming the interior of the containers, means in the base, connected to the carrier and adapted to contact with the support of the plungers,
whereby the carrier and the male members will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and withdrawing the male members in and out of the female members as well as synchronously reciprocating the plungers in the female members when the said means is operated, and heating means associated with the molds for baking the material of the containers when molded, substantially as set forth.
5. In a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a vertically disposed passage theretln-ough ser\' ing as the female member of a mold for making a flatbottom container of edible material, a ilunger reciprocably disposed through the lower end of the female member, said plunger being formed to provide a movable bottom for the female member when lowered so that its free end rests in the lower open end of the female member, a male member movably supported on the base, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female member when accordingly moved, and the said male member being smaller in size than the interior of the female member for forming the interior of the container, and operative means on the base, connected to the male member, and adapted to contact with the plunger, whereby the male member will be raised and lowered relative to the base for being alternately inserted. in and withdrawn from the female member as well as synchronously reciprocating the plunger in the female member when the said means is operated, substantially as set forth and for the purpose specified.
6. In a machine of the character described, a. hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a plurality of vertically disposed passages therethrough serving as the female members of molds for making flat bottom containers of edible material, a plurality of plungers, one being reciprocably disposed through the lower end of each of the female members, the said plungers being formed to provide movable bottoms for the female members when lowered so that their free ends will rest in the lower open ends of the female mem bers, male members of an equal number to the female members, movably supported on the base, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female members when accordingly moved, and the said male members being smaller in size than the interior of the female members for forming the interior of the containers, and operative means on the base, connected to the male members, and adapted to contact with the plungers, whereby the male members will be raised and lowered relative to the base for being alternately inserted in and withdrawn from the. female members as well as synchronously reciprocating the plungers in the female members when the said means is operated, substantially as set forth and for the purpose specified.

In a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a verti' cally disposed passage thcrethrough serv ing as the female member of a mold for making a flat bottom container of edible material adapted to be baked, a plunger reciprocably disposed through the lower end of the female member, said plunger being formed to provide a movable bottom for the female member when lowered so that its free end will rest in the lower open end of the female member, a male member movably supported on the base, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female memher when accordingly moved, and the said male member being smaller in size than the interior of the female member for forming the interior of the container, operative means on the base, connected to the female member, and adapted to contact with the plunger, whereby the male member will be raised. and lowered relative to the base for being alternately inserted in and withdrawn from the female member as well as synchronously reciprocating the plunger in the female member when the said means is operated, and heating means associated with the molds for baking the material of the container when molded, substantially as set forth.
8. In a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a plu rality of vertically disposed passages therethrough serving as the female members of a mold for making containers of edible material adapted to be baked, a plurality of plungers, one being reciprocably disposed through the lower end of each of the female members, the said plungers being formed to provide movable bottoms for the female members when lowered so that their free ends will rest in the lower open ends of the female members, male members of equal number to the female members, and adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female members when accordingly moved, and the said male members being smaller in size than the interior of the female members for forming the interior of the containers, operative means on the base, connected to the female members, and adapted to contact with the plungers, whereby the male members will be raised and lowered relative to the base for beimg alternately inserted in and withdrawn from the female members as well as synchronously reciproeating the p'lnngers in the female members when the said means is operated, and heating means associated with the molds for baking the material of the containers when molded substantially as set forth.
9.111 a machine of the character described, hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a vertically disposed passage therethrough serving as the female member of a mold for making a container of edible material, a movable support in the base, a plunger held on the support, and reciprocably disposed through the lower end of the female member, said plunger being formed to provide a movable bottom for rho female member when lowered so that its free end rests in the lower open end of the female member, a bracket movably supported on the base so as to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, a male member on the bracket, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female member when the bracket is accordingly moved, and the said male member being smaller in size than the interior of the female member for forming the interior of the con tainer, and :2 manually operative lever in the base, connected to the bracket, and adapted to contact with the support of the plunger, whereby the bracket and the male member will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and withdrawing the male member in and out of the female member as well as synchronously reciprocating the plunger in the female member when the said lever is operated, substantially as set forth and for the purpose specified.
10. In a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a plurality of vertically disposed passages there through serving as the female members of molds for making containers of edible material, a movable support in the base, a plurality of plungers held on the support, one of the ph'mgcrs being rcciprocably disposed through the lower end of each of the female members, the said plungers being formed to provide movable bottoms for the female members when lowered so that their free ends will rest in the lower open ends of the female men'ibers, a bracket movably supported on the base so as to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, male members on the bracket of an equal number to the female members, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female members when the bracket is accordingly moved, and the said male members being smaller in sizes than the interior of the female members for forming the interior of the containers, and a manually operative lever in the base, contill nevted to the bracket. and adapted to coin tat-t with the support of the plungers, whereby the bracket and the male members will, be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and with drawing the male members in and out of the telltale members as well as synchronously reciprocating the plungers in the female members when the said lever is operated. substantially as set forth and for the purpose specified.

In a machine of the character ole-- scribt-d, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a vertically disposed passage thcrclhrough serving as th Female member ol a mold for making a container of edible material adapted to be baked, a movable support in the base, a plunger held on the support, and reci in-ocably disposed through the lower end f the female member, said plunger being formed to provide a movable bottom for the female member when lowered so that its free end rests in the lower open end of the female im-mber. a bracket movably supported in the base so as to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, a male member on the bracket, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female member when the bracket; is accordingly moved. and the said member being smaller in size than the interior of the female member for forming the interior of the container, a manually operative lever in the base connected to the bracket, and adapted to contact with the support: of the plunger. whereby the bracket and the male number will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and withdrawing the male member in and out ol the female member as well synchronously reciprocating the plunger in the lemale member when the said means is operated, heating meaus associated with the molds for baking the material of the container when molded, and means for regulating the degree of heat supplied to the molds, substantially as set forth.
12. In a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse to plate provided with a plurality of verticallydisposed passages therethrough serving as the female members of a mold for making bakable containers of edible material with flat bottoms, a movable support in the base, a plurality of plungers held on the support, and one of the plungers being reciprocably disposed through the lower end of each of the female members, the said plungers being formed to provide movable bottoms for the female members when lmvered so that their free ends will rest in the lower open ends of the female members, a bracket movably supported on the base so as to be raised and lowered to and lrom the top plate of the base, male members on the bracket 01' an equal number to the female members, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female member when the bracket is accordingly moved, and the said male members being smaller in sizes than the interior of the female members, a manually operative lever in the base, connected to the bracket, and adapted to contact with the support of the plungers, whereby the bracket and the male members will be raised and lowered relative to the base. for alternately inserting and witluh-awiug the male members in and out ot the lcmale members as well as synchronously reciprocatiug the pluugtrs in the female members when the said level is operated, an electric circuit with a plurality of resisting coils one arranged. on each of the female members and one on each of the male members for heating the molds to bake the containers when molded, and a rheostat in the circuit for permitting the supply of electricity to the resisting coils to be regulated, substantially as set forth.
13. in a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a vcrtically disposed passage therethrough serving as the female member of a mold for making a container of edible material, a movable support in the base, a plunger held on the support, and reciprocably disposed through the lower end of the female member, said plunger being formed to provide a movable bottom for the female member when lowcred. so that its free end rests in the lower open end of the female men'iber, a carrier adapted to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, a male member on the carrier, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female momher when the carrier is accordingly moved, and the said male member being smaller in size than the interior of the female member for forming the interior of the container, and means in the base, connected to the carrier and adapted to contact; with the support of the plunger, whereby the carrier and the male member will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately in.- serting and withdrawing the male member in and out of the female member as well as synchronously reciprocating the plunger in the female member when the said means is o]. crated, and a hopper adjustably supported on the base whereby suitable quantities of the material for making the container may be led to the female member at intervals, substantially as set forth.
14.111 a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a plu rality of vertically disposed passages therethrough serving as the female members of molds for making containers of edible material, a movable support in the base, a plurality of plungcrs held on the support, and one of the plungers being reciprocably disposed through the lower end of each of the female members, the said plungers being formed to provide movable bottoms for the female members when lowered so that their free ends will rest in the lower 0 en ends of the female members, a carrier a apted to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, male members on the carrier of an equal number to the female members, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female members when the carrier is accordingly moved, and the said male members being smaller in size than the interior of the female members for forming the interior of the containers, and means in the base, connected to the carrier, and adapted to contact with the support of the pluugers, whereby the carrier and the male members will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and withdrawing the male members in and out of the female members as Well as synchronously reciprocating the plungers in the female members when the said means is operated, and a hopper adjustably supported on the base whereby suitable quantities of the material for making the containers may be fed to the female members at intervals, substantially as set forth.
15. In a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a vertically disposed passage therethrough serving as the female member of a mold for making a container of edible material adapted to be baked, a movable support in the base, a plunger held on the support, and reciprocably disposed through the lower end of the female member, said plunger being formed to provide a movable bottom for the female member when lowered so that its free end rests in the lower open end of the female member, a carrier adapted to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, a male member on the carrier, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female member when the carrier is accordingly moved, and the said male member being smaller in size than the interior of the female member for forming the interior of the container, means in the base, connected to the carrier, and adapted to contact with the support of the plunger, whereby the carrier and the male member will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and withdrawing the male member in and out of the female member as well as synchronously reciprocating the plunger in the female member, when the said means is operated, and heating means associated with the mold for baking the material of the container when molded, and a hopper adjustably supported on the base whereby suitable quantities of the material for making the container may be fed to the female member at intervals, substantially as set forth.
16. In a machine of the character described, a hollow base having a stationary transverse top plate provided with a plurality of vertically disposed passages therethrough serving as the female members of a mold for making containers of edible material adaptcd to be baked, a movable support in the base, a plurality of plungers held on the support, and one of the plungers being reciprocably disposed through the lower end of each. of the female members, the said plungers being formed to provide a movable bottom for the female members when lowered so that their free ends will rest in the lower open ends of the female members, a carrier adapted to be raised and lowered to and from the top plate of the base, male members on the carrier of an equal number to the female members, adapted to be guided inwardly and outwardly of the female members when the carrier is accordingly moved, and the said male members being smaller in size than the interior of the female members for forming the interior of the con tainers, means in. the base, connected to the carrier and adapted to contact with the support of the plungers, whereby the carrier and the male members will be raised and lowered relative to the base for alternately inserting and withdrawing the male members in and out of the female members as well as synchronously reciprocating the plungers in the female members when the said means is operated, heating means associated with the molds for baking the material of the con tainers when molded, and a hopper adjustably supported on the base whereby suitable quantities of the material for making the containers may be fed to the female members at intervals, substantially as set forth.
