To all whom it may concern:
Be it known thatI, WILLIAM C. Ross, a citizen of the United States, residing at Golumbus, in the county of Franklin and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Boat-Landings, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to boat landings and is particularly designed as an adjustable and also a portable landing designed for use where the water level is frequently altered. To this end, my landing is adjustable to adapt it to various water levels and is also portable to remove it entirely during the winter season, in order to avoid its destruction when the ice breaks up during the spring months.
The main object of my invention resides in a structure of this type wherein means are provided adjacent its upper end for conveniently securing it in position.
A further object of the invention also resides in a structure whereby the platform may be readily adjusted to various levels without removing the supporting structure from its position in the water.
The preferred embodiment of my invention is shown in the accompanying sheet of drawings, in which similar characters of reference designate corresponding parts, and in which:

Fig. 3 is a front elevation of the structure shown in Fig. 1.
My improved type of landing is particularly adapted to banks having a steep incline, such as shown at 1, although the invention is not particularly limited to such use. The landing itself comprises a pair of base members 2 formed of T-irons, as is shown, wherein the single leg 3 projects forwardly as is shown and is provided with a series of apertures 4. These base members are adapted to be driven into the ground ashort distance at their lower ends, as is shown and are further provided with a loop at their upper ends, in order to cooperate with a similarly formed loop on the forward end of a pair of arms-5. These loops cooperate with the pins 6 in order to form a hinge connection between the base members and the rearwardly extending arms and further, the rear ends of each of these arms is preferably 'apertured to receive the anchoring pins shown at 7. By means of the hinge connection 6, the desired relative position between the base members 2 and the arms 5 may be assumed and because of the pins 7, the entire structure is securely held in position.
The platform supporting members 8 are also preferably formed from T-members,
wherein the single legs 9 form the means of support for the platform boards 10 and the cross legs 11 form the means for holding these boards in position and also the means of connection with the brace arms 12. The rear end of each of the supporting arms 8 is cut out and shaped to pivotally embrace a supporting pin 13 adjustably carried by each of the. base members by means of the apertures 4. The lower portion of the cross arm of each of the platform supports is also provided with a plurality of apertures 14:, whereby the upper end 15 of each of the brace arms may beadjustable and also pivotally connected to the platform arms and similarly, the single arm 3 of the base members 2, forms a means of pivotal attachment with the lower end of the brace arms 12, as is shown at 16.
From the foregoing description, it will be apparent that I have provided a type of structure which may readily adapt itself to assume various positions for various types of banks. The entire structure is securely supported by means of the anchoring pins 7 and these are supplemented by driving the lower ends of the base members into the ground a short distance, as is shown. The platform may be adjusted to any degree of angularity or may be moved up and down by means of the removable pins carried at the points 13, 15 and 16.
What I claim is:
1. A boat landing comprising a pair of base members, a rearwardly extending arm pivotally carried by the upper end of each base member, an anchor adapted to be driven in the ground engaging the free end of each arm, and a forwardly extending platform supported from said base members. 7
2. A boat landingcomprising a pair of base members, a rearwardly extending arm apertured at one end and hingedly connected at its opposite end to the upper end of each base member, a pin to be driven through each of said apertures, anda forwardly extending platform supported from sald base members.
3. A boat landing comprising a pair of base members a rearwardl extendinm arm 1 a pivotahy carried by the upper end oi each base member, .an anchor adapted to be driven in the ground engaging the free end ofeach arm, a platform supporting arm adgustably connected at lts rear end to each of said WILLIAM 0.
