To all whom it may camera:

Be it known that we, Ham-:Y D. Bono? and FREDERIGK A. Bono?, citizens of the United States, residing at Defiance, in the County of Defiance, State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Folding Bucket, of which the following is a specification.

The present invention appertains generally to receptaoles, and moreparticularly to a tolding bucket for use in connection with automobiles, although useful 'or various purposes.

Tt is the object of the invention to provide a bucket for carrying and pouring water, gasolene, and other liquids, which when empty can be folded within small compass to be readily stored or packed.

Another object of the invention is to provide in a collapsible buclet, novel means for connecting the handle with the body of the bucket and for accommodating the handle.

It is also the object of the invention to provide a folding bucket of the nature indicated which is extremely simple in construction, inexpensive to manufacture, and` thoroughly practical, convenient, and serviceable in use.

With the foregoing and other objects in View which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed, can be made within the scope of what is claimed, without departng 'from the spirit of the invention.

The body 1 of the bucket is composed of rubberized or other liquid proof fabric, the bottom of the bucket being circular, and the seams being turned, double sewn and tightly cemented to prevent leakage.

The longtudinal strap formed by each pair of slits 6 is provided with a transverse slit 8 adjacent to these ends of the slits 6 nearest the edge of the fabric, and the slit 8 provides a short tab or fiap 9 and the relatively long fiap 10. The flaps when folded back, as seen 'in Fig. 2, provide an opening in the hem, and the fiap 9 which is nearest the edge of the fabric upon the inner side of the body, is turned under the member 2 to project outwardly through the opening, as seen in Fig. 2. The edge 5 of the fabric is turned in within the hem as seen in Figs. 2 and 3, and the fiap 9 lays over and projects beyond the edge 5. The fiap 10 at each side is'folded back under the edge 5, and this reinforces the body where the handle 11 is attached. A handle ll which can be constructed of tabric, leather, or other suitable fiexible material, has its ends bent back to provide loops 12 disposed within the openings formed in the hem 3 by the fiaps 9-10, said loops surrounding the member 2 within said openings, and the terminals of the handle being riveted or otherwise fastened, as at 13, to hold the loops closed. The pointed projections 7 project within the loops 12 on top of the member 2 and the fiaps 9 bear upwardly against the loops 12 whereby to close the openings and provide a neat finish.

The rim member 2, and consequently the mouth or open end of the buclret, is of ovateacuminate contour, the same having a V- shaped pouring spout 14 and an opposite arcuate portion, with the pouring spout at one side of the plane of the handle 11. Thus, 'when the bucket is filled with liquid, the bucket can be tilted to pour the liquid from the spout in either a large or a small stream, and the liquid can be Conveniently poured even in a very small stream if desired.
