for holding or suspending such containers when not in use in such manner that they will be kept clean, sanitary and always within convenient reach of the user.

Ordinarily containers of this kind when filled with tooth paste, for instance, are placed while not being used in a medicine closet with boxes, bottles and other articles,

or are laid on a windowsill, wa'shstand, or thelike, and so become contaminated, and

they also often fall to the floor and take up dust or other unsanitary matter. According to my invention I provide the containers with bails by means of which they may be hun on a hook, nail or the like driven into t e wall,'windowfram'e, or similar support.

In carrying out my invention 1 provide a bail preferably made of wire and pivotally connect it with the lower flattened end of the container. The bail is of such size and is so connected with the container that the latter can be wound within it from time to time during its use and when its cor? tents are squeezed from it in the usual way.

The bail is pivotally connected with ametal clamp having jaws which engage the flattened end of the container and which are connected by a tubular joint to which the bail is applied. The clamp is by preference,v somade that it may he slid endwise onto the flattened end'of the container and may in like manner be removed-therefrom.

.In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 is a perspective view showing a collapsible container of well known form equipped with a hanger made and attached in accordance with my invention and-this figure of the drawings also shows how the hanger may be supported.

Fig. 2 is a front elevation of the parts shown in Fig. 1 and indicates how the I bular portion of hanger may be attached to the container or detached therefrom.

Fig. 3 is a view on an enlarged scale and in section on the line 3-43 of Fig. 2.

Fig. 4 is a perspective view showing how the flattened container may be wound within the bail.

Fig. 5 is a view on an enlarged scale and in section showing more clearly some of the details of the invention.

Fig. 6 shows in section how the clamp may be applied to the container in which the flattened end is doubled but not reinforced by, a permanently connected clamp.

Fig. 7 shows a further modification in which the flattened end of the container is provided with a permanently attached clamp and the bail is connected with a tnthe clamp.

The container A is provided with a fiattened portion a. which is folded or doubled at a in the usual way. In Figs. 1 to 5, (1 indicates a reinforced clamp of soft sheet metal applied to the folded end of the container as is oftenv done. The bail B is preferably made .of wire and may be supported container in such manner that the latter cannot be pulled downward out of the clamp, it being necessary to remove the ball from the hook when it is desired to use the paste. I

The bail and clamp may be made and sold as a separate article of manufacture and readily applied to containers having folded ends of the kind shown. As the supply of paste is reduced the empty part of the con tainer may be folded and wound around the clamp and within the bail in the manner 7 1 indicated in Figs. 4 and 5.

It is not essential that the container be provided with the reinforcing clamp a,

as the bail and clamp of my invention may lee-applied directly to the folded or doubled end of the container as indicated in Fig. 6. A

lit will be observed that the jaws (Z are curved and are so made as to engage the shoulders formed by the inner ends of the clamp a or the shoulder may be formed by the folded or doubled end of the container.

Fig. 7 shows a modification in which the flattened end of the container is reinforced by a clamp D provided with a tubular part 03 In this case the bail B is provided with pointed arms I) which project into the tubular part b and have a pivotal connection therewith. The bail being made of wire may be spread in such manner as to cause the arms 6 to enter the ends of the tube and then assume the position shown in the drawings.

The device made in accordance with my invention is extremely simple in construction, may be made at small cost, and is readily applied to collapsible containers of standard makes and when so applied affords a secure and convenient means for suspending the container in a sanitary manner and always within convenient reach of the user.
