Specification of Letters Patent.
Patenreanee. 1,1914..
Application filed March 25, 1912, Serial No. 685,913. Renewed April 30, 1914. Serial No. 835,541.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ANNA NoRAs, a citizen of thevUnited States, residing at Buffalo, in the county of Erie and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Suspenders, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
This invention relates to Suspenders, and has special reference to attaching tabs which are supported thereby.
The object of this invention is the production of an efficient trouser engaging end which consists of a pair of supporting members, one member being placed within the other so as to furnish eiiic'ient supportingI means for trousers especially where a pair of trousers, such as overalls or the like are worn over the ordinary trousers.
Another object of this invention is the production of efficient means for firmly holding the inner trouser supporting end within the outer trouser supporting end and also efliciently reinforcing the underV face of the trouser supporting ends.
I'Vith these and other objects in View this invention consists of certain novel constructions, combinations, and arrangements of parts as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the drawings :--Figure 1 is an elevation of a pair of Suspenders embodying this invention. Fig. 2 is a detail perspective of one of the trouser supporting ends. Fig. 3 is a side elevation of the portion of the end showing the supporting loop in section. F ig. l is a transverse section through the tubular portion of the supporting ends. p
Referring to the drawings by numerals l designates the usual suspenders which carry the front and rear end engaging loops 2. The ends 3 comprise an outer section A, and an inner section 5, each of said sections being provided with the usual button engag-v Copies of this patent may be obtained for ve cents each, by addressing the Commissioner of Patents, i
the tubular portion of the ends upon their under side. It will, therefore, be obvious that a very eflicient wearing surface has been `produced for-the ends since the reinforcing threading members,'which may be made of very tough strands, form a protecting medium for the under or wearing face of the ends. It will be seen by giving Fig. 2 very careful consideration that the inner end 5 merges into the outer end 4 so as to conform to the shape thereof and form a very smooth and unobstructed buttonengaging Hap upongthe outer ends thereof.
From the foregoing description, it will be readily obvious that a very eflicient suspenders has been produced, the ends of which may be readily assembled and, at the same time7 present a pair of button engaging loops or tabs upon each endvof said ends, one of said loops being placed within the other. Of course, after the ends are cut to thedesired shape, oneend is placed within the other, and by merely rolling the body or tubular portion and stitching the same no additional securing means will be found necessary to hold the ends in their relative position. Furthermore through the medium of the securing means above described, the inner section will not have a tendency to pucker, in View of the fact that the outer section is formed so as to allow the button engaging loop of the inner section to merge or become seated Within the loop of the outer section.
What is claimed is l A suspender end of the class described comprising inner and outer tubular sections, each provided with tabs, said inner section having its tubular body portion fitting within the tubular body portion of said ou ter section, cross stitches or lreinforcing); strands firmly binding the edges of said inner and outer sections together, to make a tubular body lfor said end and acting as a protecting means for the under edge of said tubular body portion, and the tabs of said outer section being so formed as to allow the tabs of said inner section to merge into the tubular portion of said outer section.
In testimony whereof I hereunto affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
