Description

A. KEPPELER.
DRINK' MIXING DEVICE. i APPLICATION FILED APR.20, 19/14.

ADOLPH KEPPELER, 0F BUTTE, MONTANA.
DRINK-MIXING DEVICE.
Toallfwhom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, ADoLrH KEPPELER, a
citizen of the United States, residingat Butte, in the county of Silverbow and State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Drink-Mixing 1 )evices, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to devicesfor mixing liquids by agitating the same, and its object is to provide a novel form of rotary dasher which effects a quick and thorough mixture of the liquid and which is constructedgto force the'liquid toward the bottom of the glass or other receptacle and thus keeps it from overflowing or splashing out. In order that the invention may be better understood-reference is had to the ,accom- 'panyin drawing, in which a perspective view o the dasher is shown.
Referring specically to the drawing, the
i dasher comprises ashaft 5 having a spiral rib 6 which may be a piece of wire, the same v being wrapped spirally around 'the shaft and soldered or otherwise secured thereto.
The upper end of the shaft has a head 7 provided with a socket 8 to receive the end of the shaft of thedrive motor, to which latter shaft the dasher is made fast by -screws 9 passing through the. head. Any other suitablev means may be provided for Y couplingrthe dasher to the motor or drive shaft.
he lower end of the shaftr has a conical foot piece 10. The spiral rib ex- Specification of Letters Patent.-

distance below the upper end thereof down to the foot piece.
In operation, the glass or other receptacle containing the liquid to'be mixed isplaced so that the dasher enters the same, withthe foot piece seating on the bottom of the glass.
The motor is then startedto rotate theA beater, whereupon the liquid is quickly and thoroughly mixed by being agitated by the .spiral rib 6. The dasherl is rotated from the right to the left, and the rib runs in such a direction that when the dasher is'rota-ted in the direction stated, the liquid is forced downward toward the bottom of the receptacle. The liquid is therefore prevented from overflowing or splashing out over the -top of the receptacle. When the dasher is in operation the rib 6.is entirely below the surface of the liquid which also prevents it from splashing.
I claim:
A liquid mixing dasher comprising a' rotary shaft having a conical foot piece at its lower end and means for agita-ting the liquid, said agitating means comprising a: wire wrapped around the shaft spirallv and securedv thereto, said wire extendingv from a point adjacent to the upper end offthe shaft and terminating at the foot piece. C) In testimony whereof I aiix my signature in presence o f two witnesses.
