li am aware that changes in proportion and arrangement of parts may be made without 'departing from the scope of my invention, and ll therefore' do not limit myself to grally connected at one end, one of said portions being pivotally mounted, and the other portion extending from the point of connection of the two portions toward and past the pivot point and carrying a key on its free end.
3. In a typewriter, a key lever having two portions integrally connected together, one of said portions being fulcrum'ed, and` the other portion lying alongside of and extending in opposite directions from the fulcrum point and being arranged to yield with relak tion to the first mentioned portion.

In a typewriter, a key lever comprising a body, and an arm lying'alongside each other and integrally connected at one end, a shaft upon which said arm is pivoted, said body extending beneath said shaft, and a key carried by the body whereby the body will yield away from said arm and said shaft when saidkey is struck.
5. In a typewriter1 a key lever having a portion bent back upon itself to provide resiliency between the body of the key lever and said portion and a fulcruni engaging the lever at a point forward of the bend therein.

In a typewriter, a shaft, a series of key levers each having its rear portion bent back upon itself to form an arm, said arm being pivoted on said shaft and the body of each lever extending beneath said shaft whereby resiliency is provided between the body and said arm, and a series of tension springs each attached to one of said levers rearwardly of said shaft, the body of said levers being arranged to yield downwardly away from the arms thereof when struck a quick short blow, whereby the tension of said springs is maintained Substantially constant.

In a typewriter, a shaft, and a series of key levers each comprising a body portion and an arm, the arms of said levers being pivoted upon said shaft and the bodies extending beneath said shaft, said bodies being of different lengths, and the shorter bodies extending farther rearwardly from said shaft than the longer bodies, whereby uniform resilience is obtained.
10. In a typewriter, a key lever compris- I ing a body portion and an arm yieldable with relation to each other, a key mounted on the body portion, and a fulcrum'engaging the arm at a point between the ends of said body portion.
11. In a typewriter, a key lever comprisving a `body portion and an arm lying one above the other and yieldably connected at their rear ends, a. key mounted on said body portion, and a fulcrum engaging said arm.
