To all whom ir' may concern Be it known that I, JOHN E. Einnson, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at Edgerton, in the Province of' Alberta, Dominion oi Canada, have invented new and useful improvements .in 4Attachments for Guns, of which the following is a speciication.
My invention relates to attachments'for guns or firearms, and more specifically to an attachment providing means whereby cartridges may be automatically fed to guns or iirearms, and especially Shotguns upon the breaking of the stock, to permit the dis charge or removal of a cartridge after ring.
The invention aims to provide a highly effective device for the purpose stated; a device employing it'eW, simple anddurable parts, providing a construction that can be manufactured at moderate cost.
One embodiment ofthe invention is described hereinafter in connection with drawings accompanying this application.

Suitable means is provided to limit the extent of projection of the deliverer rela tively to housing 5, As shown at the closed end of the deliverer, is. provided an arm 23 having a projection 24 which slides in an elongated slot '25 provided in the closed end of housing 5. 0n delivcrer 7 is provided a pin26 which extends intov an elongated slot 27 of ah bracket 28. This bracket 28 has pivoted thereto a link 29 which in turn is pivoted to housing 5. Also on the bracket are provided lugs 30, one adjacent each end, which lugs are adapted to cooperate with a lug-31 provided within housing 5. Said lug 31 is preferably provided on an adjustable plate member 32 so that its position may be altered to regulate the extent of projection of bracket 28 and accordingly the extent of projection of deliverer 7; this being desirable, as the various .makes of guns differ in size.

To permit such action a lug 48 is provided on bracket 42 and adapted to be engaged by a detent 49 pivoted at 50 to control member 41. When the detent 49 engages lug 48 as shown in Fig. 7, disk 46 is maintained by projection 44 in position compressing spring 47. Attached to the detent is a springl which also surrounds or is attached to pivot 43. A lug 52 is provided to limit turning or swinging movement of detent 49 in one direction; the sprint permitting a limited movement in the other direction. It will be noted that the engagement of 49 with lug 48, is slight. The gun is preferably provided with means to eject a shell orcartridge from the barrel after firing. The supply. or delivery of a cartridge to magazine 3 occurs subsequent to the ejection of a tired cartridge from magazine 3.
As it might be desirous in some instances to fasten the attachment parts so that the same will not operate upon the breaking of stock 1, relatively to vbarrel 2, the hook 17 and lug 18 have been provided When it j is desired to render the parts inoperative, the spring hook is moved into engagement with lug 18. j

8. In combination with a gun, a movable member, a deliverer, a casing for said deliverer offset from the gun, pivot means to control the projection o said deli-vercr ,relatively to' the casing connected to said delivcrer, an arm secured to said movable member mounted in operative relation to said. control means, and a spring for said control means. v
9. ny combination with a gun having a movable stock, a deliveier, a control member, a spring connected to said member, said member having an arm engaging said deliverer, and a rod mounted in operative rclatioii to saidcontrol member movable with said stock to actuate said control member.
10. In combination with a gun, a deliverer, means to project said deliverer. a slidable plate in said deliverer, a spring bearing against said plate, and means to control the movement of said plate.
