To all whom it may concern:
Beit known that I, CHESTER E. KINARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at in the county of VDelta and State of Texas, have invented certain new and uselful Improvements in Door-Hangers; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear,

A secondary object is to'construct the hanger in such a manner as to apply a braking action to the track simultaneously with throwing the supporting rollers out of play, thus preventing the door from unnecessarily shifting.
With the above objects in view, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction and combination herein described and claimed and shown in the drawings wherein:

.In the embodiment illustrated, I have shown a portion of a freight car 1 having the usual door opening 2, sliding door 3, track 4, guides 5 for the lower end of said door, and stops 6 for preventing excessive movement of the latter in either direction.
The door 1 may be of any suitable construction and is of slightly less height than the distance between the upper face of the guides 5 and the lower face of the track 4t, this provision being made for a purpose to appear. The inner ends of the levers 9 are pivoted to offset terminals 14- or links 15, which are pivoted at 16 to the upper end of a connecting rod 17. The connecting rod 17 is slidably mounted through a guide 18 on the door 8 and is provided, on its lower end, with a ring 19 in which an eccentric 2O operates for raising or lowering the inner ends of the levers 9. The eccentric 20 may be provided with any suitable operating handle 2l for obvious reasons.
The operation of the device is as follows: Assuming that the door is open and supported upon the rollers 11, and it is desired to retain the same in this open position, the handle 21 of the eccentric 2O may be turned to such a position as to move the inner ends of the levers 9 upwardly. This action will allow the door 3 to lower and rest upon the guides 5 and will also cause the rollers 1l to rise out of contact with the track l and will bring the friction shoes 13 into binding contact with the underside of said track. It will be evident that the above operations will clamp the door 3 securely between the guide 5 on which it rests and the underside of the track 4L and will prevent any shifting thereof.
