Be it known that l, ROBERT C..BL.-icir, a
citizen of the United States, residing at Dunnellon, in the county of Marion and VState of Florida, have invented certain new and occupation but a limited amount of tit space and may be folded up at 4the will of the user. l
Another object of my invention contemplates the provision `of a foldix'ig article hanger which is constructed vof very few parts and issimple and durable in nature and efficient yin operation and wherein va rious structural details of the entirety complement each of the other structural details 1n vperforming one or more functions thereof.
With the foregoing and other obJects in view' this invention consists in 'such novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and claimed.
In describing my invention in detail reference will. be had tothe accompanying drawings wherein' .like characters of reference designate like or corresponding parts and in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of my invention showing the same as disposed in posi tion adapted for immediate use. Fig. 2 is an end elevation of my invention showingthe same in position as illustrated in Fig. l.

In order to allow for sulicient pivotal movement of the folding parts it is necessary to cut away and bifurcate the upper lend of the rib 16 to form extension 18 through which is journaled the pin 17 before referred to, thislparticular structure a1- lows for inward movement of the said ribs eol when desiring to fold my hanger; outwardA I movement being eliminated because of the abutment of the terminal end of the body portion of the rib 16 with theupper surface of the rib 14. When folding my invention in the smallest possible space the ribs 14 and 16 are forced inwardly and the arm 11 is thereby caused to move downwardly into close proximity with the prop 6 when inthis position the rib 14 is contained within the semi-cylindrical structure of the arm l1 and the rib 16 is contained within the semi-cylindrical structure of the prop 6, thus forming a very compact package. i
Each and all of the parts of my in'veritioiif l =4` i as being yslightly longer than the arin ofi` e must by necessity be contained withinl some one of the other parts with the exception of the prop 6 to accomplish this the size of the parts are varied-the rib 14 being the narrowest, the rib 16 slightly larger and the arm 1l of less size than the'prop 6 but larger than either of the ribs so that they ma)7 be contained within the structure of the prop and arm.
I desire it to be understood that I may make slight change in the combination and arrangement of parts without departing` from the spirit of my invention provided such changes fall within the scope of the subjoined claims.
Having fully described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is I claim:
1. A folding article hanger, including a pair of spaced apart brackets, a prop revolubly mounted between and within said brackets, an arm pivoted to said prop and a pair of plvotally connected ribs forming a brace engaged by said arm and pivotally connected to said prop, said brace adapted to be folded up and contained within said arm and prop at predetermined times, and means disposed on said brace for supporting an article of apparel.
2. In an article hanger, the .combination with supporting brackets, of a prop revolubly mounted between said brackets, an arm pivoted to Said prop, said prop and arm being of a semi-cylindrical configuration and substantially U-shaped in cross section, -and foldable means engaging said prop and arm for bracing the latter when in extended position, said means adapted to be ineased within saidprop and arm, when in folded position.
