Description

W. B. PUSEY.
AEROPLANE. APPLICATlON FILED JULYB. 1915- Patented July 11, 1916.
WILLIAM Bnmmm rusnr, or soisu nano;
Specification of Letters Yatenti Patented Julyil, 1291c.
Application as m a, 1015. sex-m1 no. 38,722;
. To all whom it may concern: 1 r
Be it known that I Poser, a citizen of the United States, residing at Boise, in the county of Ada and State of Idaho, have invented certain new i and useful Improvements in Aeroplanes, of
which the following is a specification.
. This invention relates to planes for flying machines, kites, or any other aerial devices using planes;
The objectof the present invention is to.
provide a plane for aerial devices that will i be non-capsizable, light, and eilicient.
' brought out in the toll Other objects such as simplicity, cheapness of manufacture, and durability, will be owing specification and claims.
A will the covering removed, Fig. 2 is a view on the ractical embodiment of my invention which: ,7
Figure 1 is a top plan view with part-of line 2-2 of Fig. 1, partly in section, and
'Fig. 3 is ahsectional view on the line of Fig. 1 showing the curve of the plane on each side of the aperture.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, the numeral 1 designates the longitudinal side bars of the plane which extend upwardly on an angle from a point at their center. A plurality of crossbars or braces 2 adjacent the ends of the plane are secured as at 3 by mounting in the bars 1. Wings 2 4 comprising side bars 5 and crossbars or braces 6 are adjust-ably mounted on the ends.
I ofthe longitudinalside bars 1 by a-sui-table 1 joint 7.
Crossbars or braces 8 are curvedup wardly so as to be above the level of the plane. Longitudinal bars 9 are spaced from each other and secured to bar. 8. A plurality of crossbars 10 are secure to the bars Wnamm BENJAMIN shown and designate Having thus de'scribed'my invention what I claim is:- e brought out. in the drawings, in H a body portion having apertures therein, the
. surface of said plane being curved upwardly at each side of said a ertures and being flat p from the ends of sai' I apertures tothe' ends 6 body portion.
9 forming a plurality of apertures the i plane. A plurality of braces or crossbar-s 12 extend between the bars 9 and the ba'rs'i, 4
point of the bars 8. I v v The frame structure maybe covered b 1550 any suitable material a portion of which-is,
dby the numeral "13. r It will be understoodthat I do not limit myself to the specific structure shown and described but wishto use a plane with aper tures therein on" any aerial device where it 1 can be used; Also I do not wish to limit myself to any-'specificimaterialt 1 1. A plane for aerial devices'comp-rising of the body. portion of-said-plane, and ad-v justable Wings mounted on the ends of said 1 V 2. A- plane for aerial devices "comprising a bodyrportion having apertures therein,
said body portionextending upwardly-at an angle from. its center, the surfacerof .said- 4 plane being-curved upwardly at each side of said apertures and'b'eing1 flat from the' ends of said apertures to t body portionof said plane, and adjustable: Wings mountedv on the ends ofsaid body portion.- I Q f y In testimony whereofI- hereto my signature in the presenceof two witnessesu WILLIAM BENJAMIN-PUSEY; L Witnesses: O. J. FRANKLIN, I Man'rnaO. Hansen.
