The object -etlie invention is to provide a gate in a chute er passage which is preferalely slide-hie te epen and close the pas# sage, and which in closing the passage-dees not permit the material to catch er clog the guide'ways.

A further ebiect el the invention is to provide a device which can ne readily taken apart, and which can be applied in connection Wit machines, Warehouses andthe like. v
