citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, borough of Manhattan, county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful mprovements in Display-Forms, of which the following is a clear, full, and exact description.

This invention relates to display forms more particularly for lades wearing apparel such as neckwear and the like, or anything to be worn about the neck such as chains, etc.

One of the objects of the invention is to provide an economical and cheap device for the purpose named.

Other objects are to provide a lPractical and efiicient display form for such purposes as named, or similar purposes.

These being among the objects of the present invention, the same consists of certain features of construction and combinations of parts to be herenafter described and then claimed with reference to the accompanying drawing illustrating a suitable embodiment of the inventon, andin which- Figure |1 is a .perspective view thereof showing a chain 'and ornament displayed thereon; Fg. 2 is a cross-section thereof on the line 2-2 Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a plan of the base member showing the connecting portions which are cut thereinto before said base member is formed into proper shape; Fig. 4 is a plan of the blank for the collar or tubular member; and Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the tubular member tself.

Referri'ng to Fig, 8, the base member or breast and shoulder form 10 is of elongated Shape so as to provide a forwardly extending apron 11. Preferably the said parts are composed of sheet material such as pressboard so that said parts are comparatively stiff, and the sides taper gradually toward the end of the apron. In substantial alinement with the longitudinal central axis of the parts v10, 11, there is cut into the said board a slit 12 which extends through the edge, while at one side of said slit there is cut into the base member 10 a comparatively long slit '13 which is inclined relatively tothe slit 12, and at the opposite side of the slit 12 there is located a comparatively wide tongue 11., This. tongue is preferably formed by slitting the base member substantially as shown. lhocatedat opposite Specification of Letters Patent.

sides of the inner end of the slit 12 is a pair of slits 15, 16, which extend in the general direction of the length of the parts 10, 11, while at a point in line with said slit 12 and between the slits 15,-16, there is formed a transverse slit 17. The slits 15, 16 and 17 are formed in a substantial semi-circle concentric with a point adjacent the inner end of slit.12. The tongue 14: and the slit 13 constitute interlocking' elements, and it will be seen that by reason of the flexible character of the material the edges of the slit 12 may be moved past each other and the parts overlapped so that the tongue 111 may be engaged in the slit 13. This manipulation connects the overlapped portions by a single Joint at the rear and humps up or deforms the base member or breast and shoulder 21 and a tongue 22 respectively. At one c edge of said strip there is provided a series of tongues 23, 24, 25. The said fiexible strip 20 is now rolled or bent into tubular Shape,

in which shape it is retained by the engagement of the tongue 22'with the slit 21, as shown in lFig. 5. Thus a collar or tubular member 26 is provided having tongues 23, 211, 25, at its lower edge. Said' tubular member which now constitutes a'neck form is now applied to the base member or breast and shoulder form 10 by engaging the tongues 23, 24, 25, in' the slits 15, 17, 16, thereby producing the complete device shown in Figs. 1 and 2. When the partsare united, the apicial portion of the base member will set into the tubular member.,

As will be noticed, the eXposed front surfaces of the breast'and neck forms are preferably free from joints and continuously smooth and unbroken, due to the location of the joints of said forms at the back of the device. Tt will also be observed that the front portion or apron of the breast and shoulder. form is prolongated considerably forward relatively to the remainder'of said form, and that when the two described members of the display form' are properly connected the said front portion or apron is inclined at a substantial angle away from and connected .up afterward, and 'the de! the axis of the'neck form; The described display form. thus comp-rises ay neck. form and'a breast form which is provided with proper background surfaces for the display of neck-worn articles.

It is obvious that the described display form is composed of the fewest possible parts, namely two, and that it is a very simple matter to construct the display form by making. use of the appropriate interlocking elements such as described. In the illustrated form of the invention the breast portion of the breast and shoulder form has a symmetrically curved peripheral edge and is lof relatively great eXtent as compare'd with the shoulder portions of said form.

It is obvious that the invention is susceptible of modification, as parts may be omitted, parts added, and parts substituted without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as expressed in the claims.

-What I claim as new is 1. A display form for neck-worn articles, comprising` two connected formed members,

w namely, a tubular neck form rolled up from a piece of 'sheet material, and a breast form bent up from a separate piece of sheet material into a fiattened ,conical Shape, said forms having rear separable connecting parts by which they are held in shaped condition, each form being free from any exposed joint in its visible front portion and each of said front .portions having tan unbroken continuously smooth' backgroundsurface, thesaid front portion of said breast form being inclined at a substantial angle away from the axis of said neck form.

2. A display form for neck-worn articles,

comprising two connected formed members, namely a tubular neck form rolled up from a piece of sheet material, and a breast and shoulder form comprising a piece of sheet material which is elongated relatively to the away from the aXis of said neck form, each of said forms being freeI from any exposed joint in its visible front portion and each of said front portions having a smooth background surface.

3. A display form for neck-worn articles, comprising a fiexible base member which is slitted laterally through the rear edge and is provided with interlocking elements at both sides of the slit, whereby said member is deformable to provide a fiattened conical portion and an apron eXtending laterally' from said conic'al portion, said parts constituting a breast and shoulder form, and atubular nember consisting of av fiexible strip provided with interlocking elements at its ends, saidv tubular member constituting a neck form having downwardly .extending tongues, and the said conical portion of said base member having a series of slits located around its' apex and into which latter slits said tongues are interlocked but with the interlocked ends of Said strip located at the rear, said apeX extending up into said tubular member, and the exposed front surfaces of said display form being continuously smooth and vunbroken-so as to constitute a.

display-background.
