To all whom it may concern:

. Be it known that I, CHARLES W. BYI-IAM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Warren, in the county of Trumbull and Statev of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cabinets for Holding Manifolding Devices; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in cabinets for holding manifold account books and consists of a simple and eflicient device having various details of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings, and then specifically defined in the appended claims.

My invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure l is a perspective View of a cabinet made in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a top plan view. Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectional view through one of the card holding receptacles, Fig. 4 is a vertical cross sectional view and Fig. 5 is a sectional view on line 5-5 of Fig. 2.

Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates a cabinet which may be of any size or shape and said cabinet is provided with compartments formed of the vertical partitions B and in one of said compartments is a rack or case D, preferably of metal, open upon one face and provided with a series of transversely-disposed parallel partitions E, forming spaces for the reception of individual manifolding devices. Each of said casings slides within the cabinet and may be conveniently removed and placed within a safe, if desired.

tance from the rear wall H, leaving a space in which the fingers of a person may be inserted for the purpose of pushing upon the rear end of one of the casings to remove the same from the cabinet, the inner movement of each casing being limited by a crosspiece J.

The forward overhanging edge of the top F is provided with elongated slots I formed therein, and fastened to the front face of the cabinet and adjacent to one side of each compartment is a card receptacle K, formed preferably of metal and provided with its opposite longitudinal edges K flanged to retain the card N upon which appear the names of the various persons who have individual manifold devices contained within the partitioned casing. Each of said card receptacles, it will be noted, is in registration with an elongated slot I through which the cards are inserted, each name upon the card being adapted to appear opposite the space between the two partitions upon the casing and each adapted to identify a manifolding device which is contained therein.

From the foregoing, it will be noted that, by the provision of an apparatus as shown and described, a convenient and compact cabinet is afforded for containing the removable partitioned casings, which casings may be for safekeeping taken from the cabinet and placed in a vault or safe while, when in daily use, they may be placed within the cabinet and the list of the customers placed upon a card and held in the receptacles so that each space between two partitions of the casing will be identified by a particular name. When it is desired to remove the casings, the fingers of a person may be placed behind a cabinet and the same readily pushed out therefrom.
