In attaching the post to'the edge of the battery case, the slotted lower end of the post is fitted over the upper edge of the easing to which it is to be attached and, by one or two blows imparted by a hammer to the upper screw-threaded end of the post, the" upper edge of the casing is cut away and caused to enter the recess 0 and is'bent-or clamped within the recess, thus securing the post to the casing.
