Description

J. G. PETERSON. 'EVIJEIJTBIO SWITCH. APPLIOATIONPILHD 00T. 2, 1an.
1,099,313, A Panenuune 9,1914- www .MIU i lllilh 1 717516726515165: [nveizor: JGe-ersom v position as indicate verse slot, the length of the slots slightly exceeding the length of the respective T- heads 18, by virtue of Which the levers can be mounted in place by passing said T-heads through said slots. Each of said slots, as will be evident, consists of a straight portion 1l) and a circular port-ion 20, and the Wall of each of said circular portions as will hereinafter appear encircles a cooperating reduced portion 16 to thereby provide ior a pivotal joint. y
l will describe the mode of connecting one of the levers (such as 11) With the rocker 10, this description of course applying to the other lever. The slot in the lever 11 is brought into register with the transverse or T-head 18 (see Fig. 2) so that said lever can be slipped over ythe arm 14 until the Wall of the slot is in line With the reduced portion 16. Said lever Will then be moved slightly laterally so as to cause the Wall of the circular portion 20 of the slot to inclose said reduced portion 16 at which point the said lever will be swung around to approximately right angles to its original in Fig. 1 so as to thereby bring the T-head 18 across the solid portion of said lever and hence prevent the same being accidentally displaced. Owing to the fact that the portion 20 of the slot is round or circular, the rocker 10 and lever can freely relatively rook, so that for this reason such a construction is advantageous, al-
though not essential. To disconnect the lever it will be swung around from the position shown in Fig. 1 to that illustrated in mear-iis y slipped from is;
arising a roelrer and a leelongated slot, one ,neular and another portion or i :n straight, said rocker having an arm reduced between its ends to lprovide two bearing shoulders and a Te hearhthe entire length of said slot being greater than the length oit' said T-head land the diameter of the circular portion of said slot being slightly greater than the Width el said reduced portion, said head being insertible through said slot when the arm-anti lever are'out of normal operative relation, so that the lever can be passed over said head until its slot registers With the re duced portion of said arm, whereby said lever can be turned through an angle of approximately ninety degrees to bring it into normal operative relation, the Wall of the circular portion of said slot engaging' the reduced portion of said arm to pivotally connect the arm and lever and said head and bearing shoulders engaging opposite facer' of the lever to prevent accidental displace ment of the lever.
