To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, LEONARD Hnosnn, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, borough of the Bronx, in the county and State of New York, have invented a useful, new, and Improved Safety-Razor, of which the following is a. full, clear, and exact description.

This invention has for its object to provide a safety razor simple in construction, effective in operation and durable in use. A safety razor that can be easily and thoroughly cleaned, and that is a perfectly safe device. Such object I accomplish by the means illustrated in the accompanying drawings, which embody my invention in its preferred form and in which- Figure 1 is a side View, Fig. 2 a rear, and Fig. 3 a front view of my invention, showing the frame ready for cleaning. Fig. 4 is a top view of the frame ready to receive the blade. Fig. 5 is a side view of the razor with the blade inserted ready for shaving.

Referring to the drawing by reference numerals 2 designates the frame, 3 a tongue an integral part of the frame that acts as a spring for clamp 4. The lower end of the clamp ends in a lip bent in an angle. Near its lower end the clamp 4; engages projections 5. Said projections being integral parts of the frame, bent inwardly on either side of the tongue 3. The comb or guard 6 is of the usual construction the teeth 7 on both ends of the comb being somewhat raised serving as a stop, thereby preventing the blade from going beyond the safety point.

8 is a top plate having extensions 9 on its two sides.

Springs 10 are substantially fastened on their one end in the rear, inside of the frame, the other ends of the springs 10 are engaged in holes 25 near the lower ends of extensions 9. A small lug 11 extends inwardly, one from each extension 9 setting under the shoulders 12 near the comb of the frame. The springs 10 pressing against the extensions 9 lugs 11 and shoulders 12 enables the top plate 8 to set at any desired and necessary point, to accept blades of various thickness.

It should be apparent from the above description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing that the safety razor will fulfil the objects claimed and desired.

Having described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. In a safety razor the combination of a frame having a guard at its upper end and a threaded hole in its lower end, a tongue and two projections integral with said frame, a movable clamp mounted upon said projections and engaged by said tongue, a movable top clamping plate having two extensions thereon, a lug bent inwardly from each extension, each of said extensions provided with a hole near the end thereof, springs carried by said frame and engaging each of said holes, and means for holding said top clamping plate and said clamp on said frame, substantially as described.

2. In a safety razor the combination of a frame having a comb or guard at its upper end, the end teeth of said comb being raised to act as a stop and prevent the blade from going beyond the safety point, a threaded hole at its lower end, a tongue and two projections integral parts of said frame, a movable clamp and a movable top clamping plate adjacent said guard and having two extensions with a lug bent inwardly on each, a small hole near the end of said extensions, said lugs and extensions being integral parts of said top clamping plate, a spring near each end inside of the frame, the one end of said springs being substantially fastened to the back of the frame and extending under the top of the frame to a point under the comb, the other ends of the springs engaging the holes in the extensions of the top clamping plate and means for holding the frame and clamp together substantially as described.

3. A. safety razor having a frame provided with a guard at its forward edge, a tongue and two projections integral parts of said frame, a movable clamp and means for holding said clamp and frame together, two springs, located near the ends under the top part and inside of said frame, a top clampthe same, an extension and lug on two sides of said plate, springs engaging the end of each of said extensions, the other end of said springs being fastened to the frame substantially as described.

5. A safety razor having a frame provided with a guard at its forward edge, a tongue, and two projections being integral parts of said frame, a movable clamp and means for fastening the clamp to the frame in engagement with said tongue, two springs located inside and near the ends of said frame, a top clamping plate with extensions on two ends, said extensions engaging said springs, and lugs extending inwardly from said extensions and fitted into the space between the under sides of the top part of the frame, and the upper sides of the springs, said extensions and lugs being integral parts of the clamping plates.

6. A safety razor having a frame provided with a guard at its forward edge, a tongue and two projections integral parts of said frame, a movable clamp designed to press on the back of the blade when closed, a comb or guard with the two end teeth raised to act as a stop and designate the safety point of the razor, a top clamping plate designed to rest over the face of the blade when same is inserted, two extensions on said clamping of said frame, and the upper side of the springs, the pressure from the springs permitting the top clamping plate being set to any convenient point over the top of the frame blade or comb substantially as described.
