Description

R. P. KRONKB.
TUG LOOP. APPLIOATIQN mum um: 14, ms.
Patented Man-3, 1914.
IIIIIIIIIII OFFICE.
RICHARD rJxxiouxn, or MEilIDE N, conunc'rroo'r.
- roe-noon v To all whom. it may concern:
Be it known that I, RICHARD P. Knomm, a citizen of the United States, residing at Meriden, in" the, county of New Haven and State of COnnecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Tug-Loops; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the characters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of-the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this application. and represent, in-
Figure 1 a side'viewiof a tugloop'c0nstructed in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 an edge view of the same.- Fi 3 an inside view of onset the mem ers detached. Fig. 4 a sectional view on the line a7) of Fig. 1. Fig. 5 a sectional view on" the line cal of Fig. 1. Fig. 6 a perspeetive.vicw-of the tuck loop, detached.
This invention relates to an improvement in tug loops, and particularly to metal loops. e
having a lining and with which a buck is attached, the obi'eet of the invention being to provide a" which may be conveniently cast and with which the buckle and tuck loopmay be firmly connected; and the invention *consists in the construction hereinafter de scribed and particularly recited in the claim.
The 100 a proper is formed-intwo parts 2 and 3 each having the usual thill opening around which are channels 4 and 5 to receive the ed es of a lining 6 of rubber,
leather or other suitable material. -At the upper end of each member a lon slotiis made forming s ring-fingers 7, an extending from the s ots mto the upperends'B s emeanen of Letters m 3 Application as Jane 14, ms. paa No. 773,618.
cop the metal parts of Patented Mar. 3, 1914.
are circular notches 9 to receive the bar 10 of a buckle 11 this bar being inserted between the ends 8 and the Spring-fingers 7. The slots forming the fingers 7 also noride for the location of a tuck loop 12 w iich is dpreferably rectangular in cross-section, an this tuck loop and the buckle are socured in place by screws 13 passing through the ends of the fingers into the upper ends. of the members 2 and 3. This tuck loop, serves to hold the upper ends of the loop together. The lower ends are connected together by a screw or rivet 14 with the endsof which are connected arms 15 and 'lti of a girth bar 17. The arts are thus firmly-connected to ether an the lining secured in Since. In t is construction the parts arerea ily assembled, and when assembled are firmly united.
Ielaim:-'- v A tug loop comprising two members formed 1n ad acent faces with grooves, a lining the'fledges of which are located in said rooves the upper ends of the members :1 ormed with'slots providing spring-fingers,
the upper'ends of the members formed with notches opening into said slots, a buckle located in said notches, a tuck loop inclosing said'spring-fingers, means for connecting the outer ends of the spring-fingers with themembers, and means for connecting the lower ends of the members.
In testimony whereof,I have signed this specification in the. presence of two subscribing witnesses.
