Description

A. LOTON.
CURTAIN SUPPORTING DBVIGE.
APPLIGATION FILED JULY 10, 1912.
Patented 0015.28, 1913.
recess 19 to receive and support the pole 13 and in its inner end portion with a longitudinal slot 20. rThe two members are fastened together by lapping their projecting outer and inner ends, fitting a bolt 21 through the opening 18 and slot 2O and screwing a butterfiy nut 9,2 on the screw threaded end of said bolt. A laterally eX- tendingl lip 23 is formed on the under side edge of the inner end of the outer member which engages the under side edge of the inner member and thereby limits the downward pivotal movement of the outer member. The advantage of this construction is that the outer member can be moved out wardly owing to the slot Q0 or turned up or down to lengthen or shorten the projecting portion of the brackets or elevate or lower the pole 13 thereby providing a practically universal adjustment for the lace curtain, and its supporting pole within a limited range.
The brackets and slideway plates are preferably stamped `from sheet metal.
I claim 1. A device ot the class described consisting of slideway plates attached to a window casing; the middle portion of each slideway plate being provided with transverse corrugations, and brackets slidably mounted in said slidewav plates; each of said brackets having its inner end provided with two laterally extending corner portions and a central laterally extending portion which projects oppositely to the corner portions and has its outer end bent inwardly to form a projecting locking portion which is adapted to spring into any one of the transverse corrugations and thereby lock the bracket in its adjusted position.
2. A device of the class described consisting of slideway plates attached to a window casing; the middle portion of each slideway plate being provided with transverse corrugations and brackets slidablv mounted in said slideway plates; each of said brackets having its inner end provided with two laterally extending corner portions and a central laterally extending' portion which projects oppositely to the corner portions and has its outer end bent inwardly to form a 'in'ojectine' locking portion which is adapted to spring into any one of the transverse corrugations and thereby lock the bracket in its adjusted position, and the middle part of the locking portion being slitted and bent to extend in alinernent with the remainder of the central laterally extending portion to form a projecting lip which may be conveniently grasped by the fingers to spring the locking port-ion out of the corrugation in which it is seated.
