To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, Fnnnnnro V. GRIEs- MAN, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at the city of Albany, in the county of Albany and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Corner-Blocks for Iron and Brass Beds, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to iron and brass beds, and the object of my invention is to provide corner blocks which may be economically constructed and easily adjusted, and which may be made of lighter material han ordinarily employed for that purpose; together with such elements and combinations as are hereinafter more particularly set forth and claimed.
1 accomplish these objects by means of the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in Which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the corner blocks in connection with the angle bars, with parts broken away. Fig. 2 is a plan of the corner block. Fig. 3 is a side elevation.
Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
The corner block A, is made of malleable iron rather than cast iron and is provided with a side, a, bottom, 5, and end, 0, at right angles to each other. Along a portion of one edge of the bottom, 6, is the grooved Specification of Letters Patent.

flange, (l, admitting of the insertion of the angle bars, M and N, within said grooves in the flange, the angle bar, M, having one edge entering the groove, m, in the flange, (Z, and the edge of the angle bar, N, entering the groove, 11., at right angles to the groove, m, in the flange, (Z. Extending through the bottom, 6, of the casting, A, and through the angle bars, M and N, are the bolts, 9 and P, on each of which I place the wing nuts, R and S. As thus arranged the angle bars forming the sides and end of the bed are securely fastened at their ends in the corner block, A, and may be readily detached for the purpose of taking down the bed and putting it together again by inexperienced operators with but little time and energy.
What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by. Letters Patent is:
A corner block comprising a casting formed of side, end and bottom pieces at right angles to each other; a flange along a portion of the edge of the bottom piece provided with two grooves at right angles to each other therein; an angle bar; bolts adapted to pass through said casting and angle bar, with nuts for said bolts.
