Be it known that we, Vicco W. PaimnsnN and Juntos laULsoN, citizens of the United States, residing at Collegeview, in the county ot Lancaster and State ot Nebraska, and llutchinson, McLeod county, State oi lilinnesota, respectively, have invented cer tain new and useful Improvements in Combined ltireless Cookers and Ranges, ot which the following is a sliecification.
This invention relates to combined tireless cookers and stoves and is designed particularly to facilitate the operation ot' tireless cookers.
iiifhercas it is customary in this art to place the article to be cooked on the stove until the same has thoroughly absorbed the heat, and then place it in the tireless cooker tor completion ot' the operation of cooking, it is contemplated in this invention to provide a stove wherein the article may be heated and then without removal be isolated and brought lto the desired state through the medium ot the accumulated heat.
lt also contemplates the construction of a combination range which will perform the functions heretofore described, but which will also permit the oven thereof to be used independently ot the tireless cooker arrangement.
l/Vith the above and other objects in view, this invention consists in the construction, combination, and arrangement of parts, all as hereinafter more fully described, claimed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 is a vertical section ot the stove constructed in accordance with the present invention; Fig. 2 is a horizontal section thereof; Fig. 3 a perspective view ot the exterior ot the stove; Fig. 4t is a similar view illustrating` the tube adapted to conduct the heat trom the burners to one of the tireless cooker compartments.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, 10 indicates a stove, the walls, top and bottom of which are constructed ot spaced` sheets ot metal 10 between which is interposed t-he non-conductive material 11. A door 12 similarly constructed, operates in the lower side in the 'front wall thereof and permits access to the oven or main con1partment A. located in the lower part oit' the stove. rthe upper part ot the stove is divided into a series ot auxiliary compartments by the partition 13, each auxiliary compartment boing provided with a lid 14, said partition and lids being constructed similarly to the walls oit the stove. A llange 15 is located about the lower side o each auxiliary compartment upon which the vessels B are adapted to rest. llach auxiliary compartment is provided with a door 1G which swings downwardly into the oven when `itis desired to heat the vessel supported by the flange 15 and which rests horizontally when it is desired to close the auxiliary compartment toi-ming the same into a tireless cooker. These doors are retained in their horizontal positions by the catches 17 which are pivotally mounted on the partition 13.
A plurality of burners 18 are located in the bottom ot' the oven A and provide a means whereby the oven may be heated directly from said burners. ln order to provide a means whereby heat may be conduct ed from each burner to the corresponding auxiliary eon'ipartment when it is desired to heat the vessels which may be placed in the cooker comlfiartments, a collapsible tube 19 is located over each burner, the lower section oit which is provided with a U-shaped bracket 20 which is pivotally connected to the burner. The terminals ol. the collapsible tubes 19 are tlared to provide the heat collecting and distributing elements. In order to retain the tubes in their vertical positions, a spring catch 2l is carried by each burner 18 opposite to the bracket 20, and engages the periphery o'l.E the heat collecting clement ot the corresponding tube. From the 'foregoing it will readily be understood. that when it is desired to use the auxiliary compartn'ients as tireless cookers, the doors 1G are lool-:ed in their horizontal positions. The tubes are then collapsed and released itrom engagement with the spring catches 2l, and ari i llowed to rest upon the bottom of the oven A. The auxiliary compartments are thon completely isolated trom the main compartment ot the stove and the cooking process ot' articles therein contained allowed to proceed independent oi? the oven or main compartment. The burners are then tree to heat the oven, and a series ol shelves illustrated in dotted lines in Fig. 1 may be inserted to 'Facilitate the use oit said oven.

For heating function maybe used either gas, gasolene, or electricity. In the first event devices as described'above will be used. In the latter an electric heating device is placed in the bottom of each compartment.
Having thus fully described our invention, what is claimed as new is z- Vl. A stove having walls of non-conductive material and comprising a main compartment, a source of heat for said compartment, auxiliary compartments having openings in the bottoms thereof located above said Vmain compartment, a door pivotally mounted at the bottom of each auxiliary compartment and adapted to close the bottom of same, and pivotally mounted collapsible tubes over said source of heat for conducting heat directly to each of said latter compartments.

A stove having walls of non-conductive material and comprising ra main compartment, a source of heat adjacent to the base of said main compartment, auxiliary compartinents having openings in the bottoms thereof located abovey the main coinpartment, means for isolating the auxiliary coinpartments from the main compartment, and means above said source of heat for directly conducting heat to the auxiliary .compart-l ments and movable bodily in the main compartment to permit the heat to pass directly` into the latter when isolated from the aforesaid auxiliary compartments.
