CONNECTION FOR LAMPS OR OTHER ELECTRIC APPARATUS.

To (All whom it may concern:

Be it known that l, Auct's'rn Drixr'auiaz, printer, citizen of Switzerland, and resident of Montreux, in the Canton of Vaud and State of Switzerland, have invented certain new and useful Connections for Lamps or other lillectric Apparatus, of which the iollowing a specification.

This invention relates to asocket or holder and plug for electric lamps or wall plugs for apparatus using electric current and has the following features :.-In the first place by the use of well-known means, fuses, for" instance, the socket with its immovable plug can only receive the predetermined current for which it has been constructed. Secondly the socket when it has been connected with an electric circuit cannot be removed without damaging it, and thirdly the outer part of the socket is entirely of insulating material, no metallic parts being exposed.

Under these conditions the member 1; cannot be withdrawn from the casing a without breaking the latter or damaging the said member 6.

The plug 1' and the corresponding opening r in the socket have a similar polygonal section so that it is sutlieient to modify the number of the'sides ot' the polygon in order that only a plug of the same shape and size can engage, in the socket. This will, for example, prevent a subscriber for electric light from placing in the sockets, electric lamps of a stronger luminous intensity than those for which he has made an agreement.

Figs. 5 to 8 show examples of di'tlercut polygonal sections. It will be evident that the shape and size of the separate parts of the socket and plug described may be varied, for example, the number of sides of the polygonal section of the opening of the socket and of the plug adjusted to it may be other than those illustrated in the annexed drawing.

Having now described my invention, I claim as new and wish to secure by Letters Patent:
