Description

F. BOESSER.

4 This frame is mad FREDERICK BOESS'ER, 0F PERTH, \VESTERN AUSTRALIA, AUSTRALIA TURBINEWASHER FOR DRINKINILGLASSES ANI QTEEB VESSELS.
Application filed July 1, 1911, Serial No. 638,480. Renewed Octoher 3, 1912.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that- L FREDERICK Bonsssn, a subject of the King of Great Britain, and residing at Perth, Western Australia, Commonwealth of Australia, have invented oer tain new and useful Improvements in Tun bins-\Vashers for Drinking-Glasses and other Vessels, of which the following a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a semiautomatic device for cleansing drinking glasses and other such like vessels in a running stream of water and in which such cleansing is simultaneously effected both on the outsideand inside surfaces of the glass with the result that the glass receives a ositive and complete cleansing.
The device gives a turbine action so that the glass is spun or rotated during and by the washing process as the water jets are made to impinge or strike against the inner and outer surfaces in an oblique direction.
The glass is held in an inverted position on its frame and as soon as the water pressure is applied by the operator theglass is thereb .niade to spin around and thus be washe The construction and use of my turbine glass washer will be explained by the aid of the attached drawin showing by a sectional elevation the device as in its installed position on the counter as x. I
In said drawing a are the fixednpstanding tubes of any number having perforations 17 to eiiect the external spray action as denoted by the arrows. These jets or sprays b impinge or strike downward and side'wise at an oblique angle upon the outside of the glass 0. p I
The glass is held in an inverted (position on the skeleton spinning frame which idly rotates upon the central fixed tube e. c with the crown c upon which rests the glass and said frame hangs and rotates upon the center pivot e which is screwed into the top of 'thetube e as shown. This frame has a lower guide e to hold it in posit-ion and against the flange e secured on the tube e so as to prevent it from rising up n The central tube 6 is also Specification of Letters Patent,
Patented Jam 'ifiiili se ial No. 7233M.
made with holes or perforations f for erllect ing the internal washing of the glass as denoted hy the arrows, and from said hoies water jets f are caused to strike at an oblique angle upon the inner surface 0% the glass 0 and act in coi'ijunction with the outer ists 0 to clean the glass.
spray is also employed as g for washing the down or to jet as g for washing the outer bottom sur ace of the inverted glass The washing action takes place in the well h having the tray it upon which the washed glasses are drained as-shown and. a waste water pipe j is provided to relieve the well of accumulated water, The well is irorided with the hinged dome or cover it which when closed down durin the washing process revents any splashing trouble. The water is fed to the jets by the down press rod 5 which operates the pivoted lever m and in turn opens the spring valve 1. This lever is provided with the auxiliary spring n for valve the quicker to close. by the pipe jijiaving the regulator cock As before stated the jets b and f strike t e glass both internally and externally and at such an angle as to cause the inverted glass to rapidly rotate on the pivoted hanging frame (5 with the result permit the spring The water is is cleansing whereupon it is removed and then placed upon the drainer h and at the same time the press rod 1 is released so allowing the valve to close and to shut oi -I the feed water through pipe p.
What I claim as my invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 2 i A turbine washer for drinking glasses comprising an uprightpipe having porters tions therein a spinning frame supported on the pipe to hold a glass in inverted position,
fixed pipes disposed at opposite distance from the frame and iaving in- Wardly projecting angular terminals and also including an n wardly projecting member having an out et terminal arrange to throw a spray on the bottom of the the said fixed pipes;
' points at a An upwardly directed,
inside bottom surface while I also use returning it to the normal posit-ion and to that the glass receives a thorough positi e being perforated throw sprays of water at an angle relatively l my hand in presence of two subscribing Wit to the outer surface of the glass, and means nesses. independent of the spinning frame and' said 1 unright pipe carrying the frame for manual FREDEhHJK BOESSER' :pemtion to admit Wa ter to the several Witnesses: pipes. RICHARD SPARROW,
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set N. W. BURKE.
