FLoYn, of Bloom# field, in the county of Davis and in the State ofIowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Wagon-Steps; and doA hereby declare that the foilowing isa full, clear, and exac't description thereof',

` The nature of my invention consists in the construction andarrangement of a-wagomstp, as will be hereinafter fully set forth.

` -In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to makeanduse the same,Iwill'now prcceedto describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, which represents a perspective view of my step.

'AA represent two bars, of any suitable dimensions, between which arepivoted three steps, B, Bl, andBa convenient distance'apara these steps in-l creasing in length from top to bottom, as shown.

' The steps are connected at their edges by means of two pivoted bars, C O, oneach side, and` on the under side ofthe `upper stepr near the 'outer end, is

pivoted a bar, D, which, when the steps are let down, catches on a pin,` E, in a recesson the upper side, near the inner edge of themidd1e step, B. By this ar-l rangement, all the steps are held in the proper vhorizontal position. v

' On the rear side of the upper edge of the bars A A are secured hooks, G G, by means ot' which the step maybe hung on the side orvend of a wagon-bed, to enable persons to get into the saine. When used, it can be folded up and putoiit of the way.

The combination of the bars A A with hooks G G, steps B VB1 B2, braces C C, har D, and pin E, all constructed and arranged to operateV substantially as and for the pnrpcseshereiu set forth. y
