FLASH-LIGHT SQUIB.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Nov. 12, 1912. Application filed April 11, 1912. Serial No. 690,156.
To all 7127mm it may concern:
Be it known that I, NORTH DowLINo, a United States, residing at the fusible wire 0, as clearly illustrated in Fig. 1.
The envelop a, containing charge of flasl1light powder end is foldable a suitable at the upper onto itself as shown vented certain new and useful Improvements in Flash-Light Squibs, of which the th following is a specification. r
hlv with the battery or energy, in order dition for use to from.
The apparatus in above explained is 5, thereof, other source of electric to place the squib derive a flash-light therewhich lead-wires are inserted for connection with a battery or other source of electric energy, the wires inside the envelop and about the flashing powder therein are coupled together by means of a readily fusi e wire, whereby in fusing is adapted to set off quickly the powder for producinga flashlight.
My invention will be more fully understood from the following description taken in connection with the accompanying drawwhich which such for United States Letters Patent, Serial N 0.
685,109, filed by me under date of March %9th, D. 1912, and to which recourse may e ac.
Having thus described the nature and object of my said invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent 1s:-
A squib, consisting of a paper envelop adapted to contain flashing powder, the envelop at one end secured to a grooved block by means of a wire fastening and through which block vertically lead-wires are inserted to extend said block, within said envelop, the opp site end of said unsealed and foldable onto itself, sulated outside of said block but within the Figure 1, 1s a Sid Fig. 1.
Referring to the drawings a, is the squib, consisting of preferably an oblong envelop of paraflined atone end is secured to a block or other suitable material F). Through the said block b, are inserted insulated lead-wires 4: from a battery )r other source of electric energy. These vires 4 and 5, are uninsulated within the enelop a. and coupled together by means of a scribing witnesses hereto eadily fusible wire as shown in hi 3 The envelop at its upper end is unsealed NORTH DOWLING' 0 permit of supplying flash powder (Z, iereinto, and about the uninsulated wires and therein, coupled together by said Witnesses:
