Abstract

The invention relates to metal forming, namely, to hot deformation of billets of wheels, and is intended for use at manufacture of railway wheels. In the disclosed method of production of billets of railway wheels with a rim, a disc and a hub, which includes spreading the central part of the billet with forming the part of hub rim and forming the rim, disc and hub of the billet in molding dies, at the spread stage the billet is displaced by an upper process ring to reach coincidence of its axis with the axis of press and then the same ring is used to bend the billet followed by forming the inclined surfaces on the upper and lower sides of the peripheral part of billet. The invention reduces the number of rejects of rolled metal associated with the asymmetry of billets on the presses and poor filling by metal of forming dies in the area of ​​ rim.
