Total gaps on either side of the longitudinal plane of symmetry between longitudinal covering pads of axlebox/adapter housing and covered pads of inner and outer jaws of axle opening are larger from the side of outer jaw than from the side of inner jaw, with a minimum difference of sufficient to prevent interaction between the side frame and the wheel pair in the transverse direction from the side of outer jaw of axle opening.
