Abstract
The invention relates to ferrous metallurgy. A method for out of furnace treatment of cast-iron with magnesium involves regulated introduction into cast-iron of powder-like wire with a filling agent, which contains magnesium in a mixture with metallic passivating agent, at that as metallic passivating agent ferromanganese is used which contains 55-85 wt. % of manganese, at that mass ratio of magnesium and ferromanganese in 1 m of wire is set equal to 1:(2-6), and the expense of filling agent is maintained within the range of 3-9 kg/t of cast-iron. The invention allows to increase the grade of conversion pig iron.
